Brian Hammons

Play-by-Play Host, Champions Tour, and PGA TOUR

One of the original members of Golf Channel’s on-air team, Brian Hammons serves as play-by play host for the network’s Champions and PGA TOUR coverage. During his Golf Channel career, he served as studio host and anchor for Golf Central – he co-anchored the network’s first Golf Central on Jan. 17, 1995 – before transitioning full-time to play-by-play host duties as a member of the live tournaments team. Hammons joined Golf Channel in December of 1994 with a wealth of sports anchoring experience. During his tenure in the sports department at WXIN-TV (FOX) in Indianapolis, Ind., he served as studio host of Indiana Pacers telecasts (pregame, halftime and postgame shows) and anchored “Sportsview,” the station’s Sunday night sports highlight show. His resume also includes stints at ABC, ESPN, Prime and NBC Sports as a motorsports announcer.
