At a Glance: Derek Williams and Kaleb Nichols have developed a close bond while serving their country in the U.S. Army. Both currently stationed in Fort Carson, Colo., they have served multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Golf is their escape and their sanctuary.

For Kaleb, his ultimate goal is to be the first active member of the military to compete on the PGA TOUR.  He has an impressive golf resume – two-time Tennessee Junior Champion and winner of multiple junior tournament titles.  He admits to making choices that he regrets growing up which hampered his golf career.  He failed to walk-on at the University of Memphis, quit golf and subsequently dropped out of college.  After more than three years away from it, he rediscovered the game while in the U.S. Army, with the help of Derek.

Derek was a late bloomer to golf.  He did not take up the game until 2007, but fell in love with it quickly.  In their years in the Army when they were not on tours, they would play golf whenever they could.  It is their escape, their sanctuary and their passion.
