Chantel McCabe joined Golf Channel’s news team in 2016. The multi-faceted sports broadcaster serves as an anchor and reporter for Golf Central – the network’s daily news show – reporting on-site at PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour events, NCAA golf events and World Long Drive events, as well as specialty events and assignments throughout the year. McCabe also contributes to Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on-air team, and hosts Golf Channel Digital’s Live From news programming during golf’s biggest events throughout the year.
Previously, McCabe was with Fox Sports Carolinas in Raleigh, N.C., covering the Carolina Hurricanes NHL franchise as the network’s pre-game show host and rink-side reporter, where she also served as producer. Before moving to Raleigh, McCabe worked at WGGB, the local ABC affiliate in Springfield, Mass., as a general news reporter covering breaking news, local politics, crime and finance. She also was a member of CBS Sports Network’s ‘Inside the MLL’ weekly magazine show, contributing to feature stories and game coverage.
McCabe’s broadcasting career began in college at the University of New Hampshire with New England Sports Network (NESN) as an on-air and online reporter. She also hosted UNH athletic events on WBIN, an independent broadcasting network in Boston, and generated features and online game coverage for Hockey East, a college hockey league. She also served as a reporter for UNH’s award winning newspaper and for its athletic department.
