Jay Madara is chief financial officer for Golf Channel, a NBC Sports Group network, and its related businesses. Madara is responsible for the overall financial management and direction of Golf Channel, including forecasting, annual budget, long-range planning, new business development, financial reporting and accounting, as well as administrative and facilities management. A longtime Comcast executive, Madara previously was Vice President of Business Intelligence at Comcast Cable, where he was responsible for Executive Key Performance Indicator Reporting, strategic direction of the company’s enterprise data warehouse and tying customer analytics to business strategy. Prior, he served Comcast Cable as Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis and Vice President of Finance at Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales business unit of Comcast Cable.
A certified public accountant by trade, Madara began his professional career with Ernst & Young in Philadelphia. He is a member of both the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also is a Core Class Fellow of Leadership Philadelphia and a graduate of the FBI Philadelphia Field Office Citizens’ Academy & Community Partnership Program.
A native of Reading, Penn., Madara earned a bachelor’s degree from Temple University, where he graduated magna cum laude and also played for the school’s baseball team. He lives in the Orlando area with his wife and two daughters.
