Jim Thompson is the philosopher of the group. Every group needs someone to put things into perspective. Thompson’s prime motivation for going on the Inuvik trip is to give support to Zast’s idea. Thompson would prefer that the itinerary was planned out to the minute but realizes that this is not what the experience is about.
Thompson just so happens to be the group’s best golfer, carrying a 12-handicap.
Thompson, 67, worked in agency and client management at the Leo Burnett Co. advertising agency for more than 30 years.
He has a dabbler’s commitment to investments, start-ups, marketing consulting, blues piano playing, story writing, philanthropy, philosophy and golf. His most passionate attachment is to doubt.
Thompson is single and lives alone with his cat Larry. Thompson also has two daughters.
