CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Tiger Woods has missed only five cuts (and one withdrawal) during his PGA Tour career, but he is headed for No. 6 unless he finds something quickly.
After back-to-back bogeys at the 10th and 11th holes, Woods is 4 over, three strokes outside the probable cut line at Quail Hollow.
He made a complete mess of the par-5 10th, and it wasn't much prettier at the par-4 11th, where he found a fairway bunker and then pulled his second shot short and left. Despite a nice pitch to eight feet, he missed the putt.
Woods last missed the cut at last year's British Open. Before then, it was at the 2006 U.S. Open. The last time he missed the cut in a regular PGA Tour event was at Disney in 2005.
