Single-length irons aren’t just for Bryson DeChambeau anymore.
One of the most accomplished amateur golfers of all time with NCAA individual and U.S. Amateur titles to his name, the unique DeChambeau isn’t shy about sharing the positive effect single-length irons have had on his game.
And now anyone can put the rising PGA Tour star's clubs in play.
Cobra Golf has announced they will be releasing the King F7 One Length irons which are very similar to the set Dechambeau plays, with consistent re-engineered 7-iron length and weighting throughout the set, and they are designed with optimized geometry to produce consistent trajectory and distance gapping from long irons to wedges.
“I approach the game of golf a lot differently than most, primarily from a scientific standpoint,” said DeChambeau. “I have a more technical, unique swing than many other players, but there is a misconception that single-length irons are only for a single-plane swing like mine. That is simply not true. Regardless of how you swing and what your skill level is, you can benefit from the simplicity of a constant length set of irons. I am proud to be at the forefront of this with Cobra as preliminary research has shown that single-length sets can make the game easier and more enjoyable for players of all swing types.”
If the consistency of the single-length option doesn’t entice you, Cobra is also rolling out the new King F7 irons - building on the popular King F6 model - which are available in traditional lengths with the same emphasis on technology to provide the best possible performance, distance, forgiveness and control of every shot.
Some of the technological advancements in both the One Length and F7 irons include advanced cavity construction to optimize performance, a thinner PWRSHELLface which increases the Sweet Zone, turning near-misses into consistent contact, and lowering the center of gravity to create more distance and forgiveness with a new Thin, Optimized and Personalized (T.O.P) polymer medallion badge that is lighter than steel. They’ve also improved groove structures and combined progressive grooves with CNC milling to deliver maximum spin and trajectory control.
“The 2017 iron offering is Cobra’s most innovative and exciting yet,” said Tom Olsavsky, head of research and development for Cobra Golf. “Not only have we improved our progressive sets this year, but we are introducing our first-ever one-length option that will help to bring more consistency and simplicity to the game of golf for all players. In 2017 we will truly have an innovative, high-quality iron solution for every type of player.”
The Cobra King One Length and F7 irons will be available for both men and women on January 17, 2017, starting at $699. Check out more information on the Cobra King F7 irons at CobraGolf.com.
