AUGUSTA, Ga. – Masters week seems to produce a disproportionate amount of prognostication when it comes to potential winners, a byproduct of having such a lengthy gap between major championships.
When it comes to Augusta National, even the players get into the act of picking a potential winner, although some take it more seriously than others.
On Sunday following his appearance at the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals, two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson was asked his picks.
“Well, [defending champion] Danny Willett. He has the trophy and we want it back, by we I mean me,” Watson smiled. “Webb [Simpson] has been putting really well.”
After a short pause, Watson thought aloud, “Who else can I throw under the bus.
“[Brandt] Snedeker because I just want everybody to beat him,” Watson joked.
