Well, look who it is.
After a 5-under 67 on Saturday, 48-year-old John Daly is only four strokes behind leader Wade Ormsby at the Turkish Airlines Open.
Playing this week on a sponsor's invite, the two-time major champion made six birdies and one bogey despite hitting only three fairways. Daly's flatstick bailed him out as he took only 26 putts.
"Bottom line is I didn't hit the fairway, and I just scored well," he said.
Daly also said the tee shots at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal course are tricky. He likes to hit a cut and has had difficulty finding a target off the tee this week. As a result, Daly said he might hit 3-wood instead of driver in the final round.
He also knows his putter will have to remain hot if he wants to have any chance of winning his first tournament since the 2004 Buick Invitational.
"Hope to god I putt as good as I did today," he said.
