Mother Nature has added some new design elements to Top of the Rock Golf Course, as a massive sinkhole opened on the course in Ridgedale, Mo.
The course opened a little over a year ago and has twice played host to the Champions Tour's Bass Pro Shop Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge.
Early Friday morning, course employees noticed a sinkhole had formed near the edge of the practice facilities:

According to a Springfield News-Leader report, there are four total sinkholes on the course, with the largest measuring 60 feet by 80 feet wide and 35 feet deep. While it could take up to two weeks to fill in the holes, play will continue uninterrupted since the largest sinkhole affects the practice range, but not the course itself.
"From the Top of the Rock perspective, it's not what you want to have," said Martin McDonald, director of conservation for Bass Pro Shops. "(But) if they were going to have a place for a sinkhole to open, that was not bad."
