Phil Mickelson will make his 2015 debut at the Humana Challenge, it was announced Tuesday.
Lefty headlines a strong list of early commitments for the Jan. 22-25 event, a group that also includes reigning FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel, Keegan Bradley, defending champion Patrick Reed, Jason Dufner, Zach Johnson, Ian Poulter and Luke Donald.
Played on three courses (Palmer Private, Nicklaus Private, La Quinta) in the California desert, the Humana is the first domestic tournament of the 2015 PGA Tour calendar year.
The tournament is set to undergo several changes after the 2015 event. Humana announced that it will end its sponsorship deal after the upcoming tournament, and the two PGA West courses are reportedly pulling out of the rotation.
Mickelson won the Humana in 2002 and ’04 but skipped last year after beginning his 2014 campaign in Abu Dhabi.
