Hannah O’Sullivan leads a group of six amateurs invited to play the ANA Inspiration March 31-April 3, tournament officials have announced.
O’Sullivan, 17, of Chandler, Ariz., earned an automatic qualifying spot winning the U.S. Women’s Amateur last summer. She also made news last year becoming the youngest winner of a Symetra Tour event claiming the Gateway Classic.
The other five amateur invitees are: Sierra Brooks, 17, of Sorrento, Fla., the runner up to O’Sullivan in last year’s U.S. Women’s Amateur; Karen Chung, 20, of Livingston, N.J., a junior at USC; Bronte Law, 20, of England, a UCLA junior and a two-time English Women’s Amateur champion; Leona Maguire, 21, of Ireland, a Duke sophomore who is No. 1 in the Official World Amateur Golf Rankings and won the Annika Award last year as the collegiate player of the year; Albane Valenzuela, 18, of Switzerland, winner of the last year’s Orange Bowl Junior, Doral Publix Junior and Spanish International Amateur championships.
A final amateur spot in the LPGA major will go to the winner of the ANA Junior Inspiration to be played on the Monday of the LPGA’s major at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
