LAKE OCONEE, Ga. – Sadena Parks can't wait to kick off her rookie season on the LPGA.
“I am really, really, really, really excited," Parks said, when asked about her excitement for next year. Four "really"s? Yes, really.
Parks steamrolled past Kim Welch, 6 and 5, in the third round of the Big Break Invitational Reynolds Plantation. She rattled off six consecutive birdies to start her round, going 6 up on Welch right out of the gate.
"It came out of nowhere," Parks said, "but I’m not complaining at all."
Parks only lost one hole, the par-3 eighth with a bogey, but cruised to victory with four pars over the next five holes.
She advances to the final round of the Big Break Invitational, where six men and six women will compete for a $100K first-place prize.
Parks secured her 2015 LPGA card by finishing in the top 10 on the Symetra Tour money list (Parks was fourth) this season, helped in large part by two victories.
