The PGA Tour heads to Texas this week for the AT&T Byron Nelson. Here's a look at a few of the marquee, early-round groups fans should keep an eye on (all times ET):
8:40 a.m. Thursday, 1:40 p.m. Friday: Brandt Snedeker, Matt Kuchar, Louis Oosthuizen
Kuchar enters this week off a T-3 finish at The Players Championship, and this is an event where he has finished T-15 or better three of the last five years. He'll be joined by Oosthuizen, who finished T-11 here in 2014 after holding a share of the 54-hole lead, and Snedeker, a winner earlier this year in San Diego who finished T-6 last year in Dallas.
8:50 a.m. Thursday, 1:50 p.m. Friday: Charl Schwartzel, Sergio Garcia, Keegan Bradley
Schwartzel won in a playoff in Tampa earlier this year, and his Nelson record is highlighted by a T-3 finish in 2013. He'll play alongside a pair of former champs in Garcia, who won here in 2004 but hasn't been back since a T-20 finish in 2011, and Bradley, who notched his breakthrough PGA Tour victory at this event five years ago.
1:40 p.m. Thursday, 8:40 a.m. Friday: Zach Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Steven Bowditch
Bowditch went wire-to-wire here last year en route to a four-shot victory, but he has struggled this season and has missed each of his last five cuts. Zach Johnson finished fifth at this event last year but hasn't cracked the top 10 since Bay Hill, while Dustin Johnson has five straight top-20 finishes in Dallas and racked up three straight top-5 finishes earlier this season.
1:50 p.m. Thursday, 8:50 a.m. Friday: Jordan Spieth, Jimmy Walker, Jason Dufner
Spieth is the highest-ranked player and the biggest draw in this week's field, but his best finish here came in 2010 when he tied for 16th as a 16-year-old amateur. He'll be joined by Walker, a Texas resident who shared runner-up honors behind Bowditch a year ago, along with Dufner, who won this event in 2012 and added another trophy earlier this year at the CareerBuilder Challenge.
