KAPALUA, Hawaii – Jordan Spieth’s eight-stroke triumph at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions echoed all the way to Augusta National on Sunday as the momentum begins to build for the defending champion’s return to the year’s first major.
Before then, however, the world No. 1 revealed a little more about his upcoming schedule. Spieth already announced he was playing the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship in two weeks on the European Tour and the Singapore Open at the end of January.
He is also committed to play the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am the second week of February.
“I'm not sure if I'm supposed to or allowed to voice [his schedule] right now,” he said on Sunday at Kapalua. “But I'll be back at Pebble Beach and I'll be at L.A. and I'll be back to Tampa.”
Spieth tied for fourth place last year at the Northern Trust Open, where he will also be joined by Rory McIlroy, and will be the defending champion at the Valspar Championship.
Although it also seems certain he will play the WGC-Cadillac Championship and the WGC-Dell Match Play, it remains unclear which other events he may play before the Masters.
