The field for the inaugural East Lake Cup has been finalized and will bring together this year's national semifinalists from both the men's and the women's side.
Reigning national champions LSU headline the men's side of the draw, where they will be joined by USC, who lost to LSU in the finals at the Concession Club in May. Georgia will make the short trip from Athens, Ga., to Atlanta, and Illinois will also participate after an eight-win season last year.
On the women's side, Stanford and Baylor will face off once again after the Cardinal's dramatic win over the Bears to claim the national title. They will be joined by two of the most decorated programs in women's golf - USC and Duke, both of whom bowed out in the NCAA semifinals.
The East Lake Cup will be held on Nov. 2-3, with players facing the same course on which a FedEx Cup champion will be crowned next week. The teams will be pitted in simultaneous, match-play tournaments, with semifinals conducted on Monday, Nov. 2 and both the finals and consolation match on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Within all matches, teams will face off in five sets of singles matches.
All matches will air live on Golf Channel, where both a men's and women's winner will be crowned and two players will walk away as recipients of the Tom Cousins Award, given to an outstanding male and female golfer who exemplify the values of the East Lake Foundation.
