On July 22 at 10 p.m. ET, GOLF CHANNEL will introduce the contending teams who will race down Floridas highways, fairways and byways spanning more than 1,000 miles over 10 weekly episodes. The contestants will compete in challenges both on and off the course that will demand cooperation and ingenuity in order to survive elimination.
The five teams in Highway 18 are:
Ashleigh Korzack (25, Toronto, Ontario) and Ashley Davis (25, Toronto, Ontario). Self-professed ditsy blondes, they coordinate their outfits and want you to believe they are more interested in their looks than their golf game' all while hoping no one notices how competitive they are and how well they perform on the golf course.
Andy Crain (29, Goldsboro, N.C.) and Parker King (29, Goldsboro, N.C.). They talk funny, party hard and play a mean game of golf. These good ole boys from Goldsboro, N.C., give each other non-stop grief, have crushes on each others sisters and would do anything to help each other in a bind.
Peach Reynolds (54, Austin, Texas) and Jay Reynolds (25, Austin, Texas). Father-son duo coming from a close-knit family but often have different ideas on what is best for Jays professional golf career.
Rob Campbell (28, Orlando, Fla.) and Charlotte Campbell (24, Orlando, Fla.). A brother-sister tandem and a pair of Type A perfectionists that are determined to scheme and play their way to the title.
Raul Cendoya (39, Weston, Fla.) and Jameica Duncombe (25, Coconut Creek, Fla.) Two friends who have built a cross-generational friendship in a short amount of time cemented by humor, support and some on-course hustling.
Host Keri Murphy, in her first GOLF CHANNEL series, will map out the challenges each week as the teams race to the finish line. Murphys television credits include hosting a daily online trivia show on GolfNow.com, and will appear as a modeling coach in this summers MTV original series, Made.
Each episode of Highway 18 will feature three sets of golf challenges: a Start Challenge, a Road Challenge and a Clubhouse Challenge. Murphy will kickoff each episode by revealing the Start Challenges to the contestants, ranging from tests of skill or trivia on golf courses, beaches or a swamp.
Road Challenges can comprise either quick stops ' such as target practice at a highway driving range ' or well-known, but non-traditional settings, including Daytona International Speedway, Florida Field and Donald Trumps ultra-exclusive Mar-a-Largo Club.
Clubhouse Challenges will take place at various golf destinations, ranging from famous championship venues ' including TPC Sawgrass, Innisbrook and Trump International Golf Club ' to municipal facilities off the beaten path. Teams will be eliminated if they finish last in two clubhouse challenges (double elimination).
The teams will hit the highways in Buick Enclaves and will be able to utilize General Motors OnStar technology should they need extra navigational assistance. For golf challenges they will utilize the SkyCaddie range finder, the official range finder of Highway 18.
