Duval now at 125th on the money list
The former No. 1 player in the world missed the cut at the Frys.com Open Friday and slipped four spots onto the bubble heading to the Viking Classic this week at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss. Duval is committed to play there. If Duval doesn’t finish among the top 125 at season’s end, he will lose his exempt status. He is playing this year on a one-time top-50 career money exemption. He started 2007 on a top-25 career money exemption and played last year on a family-crisis major medical extension due to the difficult pregnancy of his wife, Susie, during the '07 season.
Since finishing tied for second at the U.S. Open in June, Duval has missed six of seven cuts. He tied for 63rd at the Buick Open in his only cut made since his stellar showing at Bethpage Black. He had great support as one of the sentimental favorites at the U.S. Open and is sure to have a tremendous following in his bid to regain his form as he plays out this season.
