DUNSANY, Ireland – American Cristie Kerr’s playing through an ailment.
Though Kerr arrived at Killeen Castle with a mysterious wrist strain, she won’t come out of the lineup. She hasn’t missed a match and will be one of only two competitors (Paula Creamer) to play in all five Solheim Cup matches this week.
Kerr doesn’t know how she hurt the wrist, but she suspects she might have strained it hauling luggage while making the trip to Ireland. She played with the wrist wrapped in a bandage Saturday and wore a mitten between shots to keep it warm. She's 1-1-1 for the week.
“She was concerned with her wrist earlier in the week, so I’ve been checking with her, and re-checking with her, and she seems good,” United States captain Rosie Jones said near the end of Saturday's morning matches.
Jones huddled with Kerr on the 18th green immediately after Saturday’s morning foursomes. After teaming with Creamer in a halve with Catriona Matthew and Azahara Munoz, Kerr was scheduled to head back out in the afternoon for fourballs with Morgan Pressel.
