The LPGA announced today that Brian Carroll has been hired in a new position as vice president of television and emerging media.
Carroll comes to the LPGA from the PGA Tour, where he was a director of broadcasting and programming. He got his start in TV at ESPN and joined the PGA Tour in 2001. With the LPGA completing its first year under a 10-year agreement with Golf Channel, Carroll will manage and enhance the Golf Channel relationship while also working with the LPGA’s international television business partners and broadcasters.
“Brian’s enthusiasm, knowledge and energy will be a real boost to our efforts to expand our television audience and enhance the viewing experience for our fans around the world,” LPGA chief marketing officer Jon Podany said in a statement. “We also are looking for Brian to focus on business development and look for new ways to expose the LPGA in the rapidly changing media landscape.”
