ORLANDO, Fla. – The Evian Championship will feature network coverage on NBC, the network announced Thursday along with the LPGA. In total, more than 20 hours of tournament coverage will air on Golf Channel and NBC from the Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-Les-Bains, France, Sept. 12-15. This is the first year the LPGA has installed Evian as its fifth major championship.
“As the LPGA’s global fanbase continues to grow, it is imperative for our tour to be on network television in the United States multiple times each year,” LPGA commissioner Michael Whan said. “NBC’s final-round coverage of the Evian will be a great opportunity to reach fans who might not otherwise tune in to the LPGA.”
Said Golf Channel president Mike McCarley: “With the world’s best players converging upon picturesque Evian Resort Golf Club and Inbee Park looking to become the first professional in history to win four major championships in the same year, the Evian Championship will make for captivating television.”
Each of the first three rounds will feature five hours of live tournament coverage on Golf Channel – 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday and Friday (Sept. 12-13) and 6-11 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 14). Final-round coverage on Sunday, Sept. 15, will air on Golf Channel from 8:30 a.m.-noon ET and will conclude on NBC from noon-1:30 p.m. ET.
Terry Gannon and Judy Rankin will anchor NBC’s tournament coverage.
