For a little while now images of a slick new iron from Adams Golf have been circulating on golf forums, drawing particular interest from the readers at GolfWRX.com where more there have been more than 20,000 views on the related thread.
Those golfers can rejoice now as the Idea Pro Black CB1 from Adams Golf will finally be shipped to retailers starting in Mid-April.
The Idea franchise has been a very successful where and has gained traction in the hard-core early adopter golf segment as a result of some very sleek wood, hybrid, and iron designs. The CB1 extends that line of products suited to the skilled player.
Featuring carbon steel heads for a softer feel they are most notable for their nickel-chrome plating and black physical vapor deposition (PVD) finish that gives them their distinctive appearance. They instantly get your attention and at address they also contrast frame the golf ball dramatically.
Better golfers are very particular, not only with the look but more in the performance of the golf club and this is where Adams strived to differentiate these irons. A precision milled cavity and exacting tolerance on the center of gravity location helps to deliver the consistent performance talented players depend on. The thin top line also adds to the preferred look.
“Originally developed exclusively for our professional staff players like Tom Watson, the overwhelmingly positive comments about the feel and performance of the CB1s from the tour inevitably led us to make this set an integral part of the successful Idea family of irons,” said Chip Brewer, President and CEO of Adams Golf. “This stealth-looking set has already received high marks from golf enthusiasts plugged into the online community so we look forward to bringing the CB1s to low-handicap golfers everywhere who appreciate the control and workability of this forged set of irons.”
Complementing the Idea Pro Black CB1 Iron set will be standard options such as Rifle Project X Flighted steel shafts or Mitusbishi Javln FX i95 graphite shafts in a number of flex options. The stock configuration will be a 4-GW set but just for right handed players.
From the reaction so far it does not look like this iron will have a hard time fitting into the “in” crowd of clubs sought after by better players.
More than 20,000 people have had an interest even in these irons before their official release date? That’s got to mean Adams Golf is doing something right.
