Hurst Leader of the Pack at Nabisco
Shortly after Hurst finished, Akiko Fukushima joined the sub-par club carding 4-under-par 68 to finish 2-under-par 74-68 142 - four shots off Hursts lead.
Catriona Matthew also managed to break 70. Matthew recovered from a ruinous first round of 12-over-par 84 by carding 3-under-par 69 on Friday. The Edinburgh native recorded one bogey on the par-3 5th and four birdies during the second round. Despite her efforts, her Friday score wasnt enough to keep her in play over the weekend. The projected cut will most likely be 6-over-par and Matthew stands 9-over-par 84-69 153 for the championship.
Three of the five amateurs look good to make it into the weekend.
Both of the Wongluekiet twins are in position to make the cut. Last year Naree missed the cut and had to settle for watching Aree play from the sidelines. This year it looks as if Naree, at 3-over-par 74-73 147, will be slipping into her spikes over the weekend. Naree shot 1-over Friday and so far is outplaying her sister this year.
Lorena Ochoa should be the third amateur to make the cut. She carded even par on the first day and stood at 1-under through the front nine on Friday.
