Devenport Leads Shell Payless Open
Sixty-six players who finished at even par or better survived the cut and are playing this weekend.
Paul Devenport of New Zealand, who recently bought a house in Victoria, is at 8-under through the tournament and holds a one-shot lead over another Victorian, Blair Piercy , Lewis Chitengwa (Zimbabwe) and Nathan Green (Australia). Golfers will tee it up in twosomes today, with Devenport and Chitengwa the final pairing of the day, right behind Piercy and Green.
Todd Fanning, who sits two shots back of Devenport thanks in part to an ace on the 309-yard, par-4 6th hole Thursday, is slated to begin his round at 12:44 p.m.
