Wittenberg, the 2003 U.S. Amateur runner-up and 2004 Masters Low Amateur, earned his first Nationwide Tour win last week in the Chitimacha Louisiana Open. He shot 260 for four days on his way to an 8 stroke win and it was a very fun week in Louisiana. He is looking forward to more fun weeks in the future.
It has taken some time to get his first win but he feels like his iron play was very strong on a course that had been softened due to rain. Everything in his game came together and it felt great to win. As a result of his win, his schedule will change a little bit but if he can play well in a couple more events his schedule may change a lot.
He does feel as though he has underachieved a little bit to this point based on where he feels he should be. While he was able to win often as a junior, an amateur, and as a mini-tour player, it certainly felt a little frustrating not to win early on but he feels he has a great team around him and he does not see any reason why he cannot continue to win on the Nationwide Tour.
