Commerce Bank takes over as the title sponsor for the event which was moved to the first week of July after last seasons mid-August schedule.
Seven-time PGA Tour winner Peter Jacobsen is making his second Champions Tour appearance in 2004 this week. Jacobsen, who debuted on the elder-circuit in March with a third-place finish in California, was forced to undergo hip surgery in late April after competing at the MCI Heritage Classic on the PGA Tour and has not played since the operation.
Also in the field are seven past U.S. Open champions - Lee Trevino, Hale Irwin, Jerry Pate, Hubert Green, David Graham, Larry Nelson and Tom Kite.
Last year, Jim Thorpe birdied the 17th hole from 10 feet to overtake Bob Gilder for the first of his two titles in 2003.
The Champions Tour moves to Michigan next week for the first of three straight majors on the elder-circuit, the Ford Senior Players Championship, where Craig Stadler is the defending champion.
