Set beneath the dramatic backdrop of South Mountain, Gary Panks designed the newest addition to the roster of Phoenix’s municipal golf courses. Both the 18-hole championship course and the executive 9-hole par 3 course offer a challenging layout to all levels of golfers.
The 9-hole "Par-3" course at the Aguila Golf Course facility in Laveen, Arizona features 1,081 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 27. The course rating is 35.5 and it has a slope rating of 113 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Gary Panks, ASGCA, the Par-3 golf course opened in 1999.
Both courses are flanked by numerous bunkers and holes, with transition areas of native grasses and wild flowers. The Par Three Course includes two teeing areas per hole..
