Riviera Maya Golf Club is an impressive work of architecture where the designer Robert Trent Jones II, has attained an spectacular synergy between the 36 golf holes and the lush Mayan jungle integrating natural lakes and cenotes (sink holes) within the rugged terrain. With twenty seven holes in operation, cut deep into an ancient limestone quarry and fairways flowing along the natural contours of a jungle dense with mangroves and gum trees, limestone boulders piled at the edge like rubble swept aside by Mayan Gods.
More than a game it is an environmental experience. The Course opened in February 2010, one Championship, 18 holes Par 72 and one 9 holes executive course.
