Roll the dice: A Las Vegas vacation is not complete without golf

The Rat Pack and Elvis are but distant memories. But you won't forget a visit to the city that is forever changing. Las Vegas' desert heat bakes today's irrigated golf courses in summer, when fees take a dip lower, but the game can be played all year. Here are some Las Vegas golf courses you might consider.

Royal Links

The pursuit of linksy-ness: Royal Links Golf Club delivers an alternative to the Las Vegas desert

Royal Links starts with 18 holes handpicked from the British Open rota and carries over to course maintenance and the 19th-hole clubhouse. It's a first-rate golf experience, Brandon Tucker writes from Sin City.

Badlands Golf Club in Las Vegas will give you plenty to think about

Badlands Golf Club in Las Vegas is, for the most part, target golf at its finest. It's a course that will reward you for good shots and punish those errant shots. Make sure to check your ego at the front desk -- along with your driver on some holes. It's a fun course if you think your way around, Bill Bowman writes from Sin City.

Stallion Mountain Golf Club springs back to life in Las Vegas

Recently reopened as a semi-private course, Stallion Mountain Golf Club has Las Vegas golfers buzzing. With a challenging layout, just enough water, sand and trees to add to the test, rolling fairways and beautiful landscaping, this classic par-72 track has been brought back to life in a big way. Forget bells and whistles, this is just good, solid golf on an outstanding course.

Las Vegas

Revere Golf Club in Las Vegas: 36 holes, one great golf experience

Revere Golf Club just outside Las Vegas features two Greg Nash/Billy Casper golf courses that put a premium on accuracy off the tee. Add in some of Las Vegas' most dramatic skyline views and you have all the makings of an outstanding golf experience.

Las Vegas tournament fun: Walters Golf offers three cool events

There's golf and then there's tournament golf, and Walters Golf in Las Vegas has some intriguing events coming up for every kind of player and mood. The Walters Golf Signature Tournaments start this Memorial Day weekend with a two-day ParAm event, continues on Father's Day with a two-person tourney and concludes with a British Open celebration event at Royal Links Golf Club.

Parmates help heat up the fun for golfers at Royal Links Golf Club's Winter ParAm tournament

The weather might have been a little chilly, but the fun was hot at the Winter ParAm Golf Tournament held at Royal Links Golf Club. For the most part, the tournament itself was the sideshow. The real star of this event was the pairing up of some 90 players with Parmates -- who are like caddies, except much hotter (think models, dancers and Vegas performers). Music, impromptu dancing, a trivia contest, food, drinks, great company and, afterwards, a reception at Royal Links' Scottish castle-style clubhouse that went for hours, made for a memorable day.

Wynn and Cascata

Go Big in Vegas at Wynn and Cascata

You don't need to be a casino whale to be treated like a VIP in Sin City. Just head to the golf course for a taste of the life of a millionaire. The best courses in town might put a dent in your wallet, but there's a reason Shadow Creek, Wynn Golf Club and Cascata cost up to $500. Superior service and amenities come with a certain price. So does impeccable course conditions and good caddies. If you want an exclusive experience that will impress your buddies or a client, these are the places to go.

Need an excuse to get to Vegas? We've got plenty

Need an excuse to plan a Las Vegas golf trip? Well, there's no shortage of reasons. Each month has its own climate and special events, whether it's March Madness or the Justin Timberlake Shriners Open.

Las Vegas

Las Vegas: A golf scene worth discovering

Millions of visitors, including golfers, stream into Las Vegas every year without a single round of golf in their plans. But Las Vegas can be another Scottsdale, with its great variety of golf courses. And, obviously, the off-the-course pursuits are endless, Jason Scott Deegan writes.
