Beyond St. Andrews: Aberdeenshire and Scotland's northeast coast

There's much more to Scotland than simply St Andrews, however. Clive Agran showcases the best golf in Aberdeenshire, including Royal Aberdeen Golf Club, Murcar Links and Cruden Bay.

Gleneagles

Scotland beyond St. Andrews: Perthshire

Golf in Perthsire is highlighted by three-course Gleneagles Resort, but the mountainous and scenic county of Perthshire is home to many golf clubs worth discovering within a mashie of St. Andrews.

North Berwick

Scotland beyond St. Andrews

St. Andrews is the home of golf, but golf clubs throughout Scotland have timeless links, too. Here are five Scottish regions to enjoy the game outside golf's grand old town.

Golf in Fife: Where the game began and thrives today

All fairways in Scotland eventually find their way to the home of golf: St. Andrews. But surrounding the seven Links Trust courses are many more, new and old, worth playing in the Kingdom of Fife.

A blending of two worlds: Golf, pampering at the Fairmont St. Andrews Resort in Scotland

It would be a shame to come to Scotland, the home of golf, and not attempt to get in as many courses as possible, but you can have a pretty complete golf vacation at the Fairmont St. Andrews without ever leaving the resort. Play all the great courses in the area and relax at a top resort that has a look that blends in with its surroundings.

Championship Course at Royal Dornoch Golf Club in Scotland

Royal Dornoch Golf Club, founded in 1877, is one of Scotland's most historic and beloved links. This small beachside town in the Scottish Highlands has become a coveted destination for golfers all over the world. Old Tom Morris had a large hand in the creation of Royal Dornoch. Brandon Tucker shows us in this photo gallery.

Cruden Bay Golf Club in Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Located on the rugged northeast coast of Scotland, Cruden Bay Golf Club is one of the country's most one-of-a-kind plays. The course is set among some of the British Isles' most remarkable dunes, and the holes all wind through and over them. Brandon Tucker shows us more of Cruden Bay in this photo gallery.

Castle Stuart Golf Links in Inverness, Scotland

Scotland has another world-class links golf course, Castle Stuart Golf Links in Inverness. Opened since 2009, the course was selected to host the Barclays Scottish Open on the European Tour. Castle Stuart, however, isn't a course designed for pros as it's forgiving off the tee. Brandon Tucker shows us more in this photo gallery.

Jubilee Golf Course in St. Andrews, Scotland

The Jubilee Course in St. Andrews is one of seven courses operated by the St. Andrews Links Trust. Located in the heart of town and playing beside West Sands Beach and the River Eden, the Jubilee dates back to 1897. It originally opened as a 12-hole course but reopened in 1989 as a championship layout designed by Donald Steel. Brandon Tucker shows us more in this photo gallery.

Jubilee golf course in St. Andrews: Locals' stomping grounds and a championship links

The locals rave about the Jubilee Course in St. Andrews. Less crowded than the historic Old Course, the Jubilee still has that unmistakable St. Andrews aura. The Jubilee may be behind the Old Course, New Course and Castle Course in the St. Andrews pecking order, but it's a favorite course among locals and repeat visitors to the home of golf, Brandon Tucker writes.
