-Another Big Break comes to an end. We crown our 15th Big Break...

-Another Big Break comes to an end. We crown our 15th Big Break champion. It is David Byrne from Canada. Let's talk about how get got there. He was in the final against Kent Eger and it was a 3 stage final. The first stage was a money match with 5 holes, the money increasing for each hole until we got to the 5th hole cleaning out the putt. The story Stephanie I think came down to putts. -It defintely did. That was pretty much the thing throughout this this entire finale but we definitely have to point out that David got off to a very quick start winning the first 2 holes. -Yeah right. -Go. -Go. -Go. -Go. -[unk] a drink. -That's a missed putt from Kent. -That is 2 in a row. -And it's quickly handed David $3,000. -They both tied the 3rd hole, but on that 4th hole again we saw a mistake made by Kent with his putter. -He rattled. -[unk] at that point in that long low land. I didn't feel that focused, I don't know why but that was before. -And one thing to keep in mind in the first stage is that if they a tie a hole that money will then carry over to the next hole. -But David cleaned up with the first 4 holes and it was Kent who took the money on that 5th hole. So they were pretty level pegging going in to the 2nd stage which where the stakes got higher, each hole was worth from 5 to $25,000. No carry overs and this is where things started to get interesting. They got off their flying start both hitting the green on the short par 4 and making birdies but then we saw some putt thrown on the second half. -You know what David, you gotta get up and down somehow from this and maybe he'll miss his putt. -Got it on the green and I was like well you know what just make this putt and I'm like okay just go, just hit it, what do you have to lose you know. Kent's making a birdie or a par, you have to make this. -How are they so slew. God. -It's really simple the choke is only that big just put the ball in the hole. Just do it. -I suppose he's vying on very valuable par 4. -So disappointing for David but Kent now 2 putts for the win. - I made a guess that it was, that it didn't go in, that I can backhand it in. -So that hands Kent $5,000 and we have our first blood in the second stage of the finale. -It was huge to win that hole and take chief lead because from thereon the [unk] I just have, I was in great shape. -So Kent pulled $6900 ahead. -And then half the par 5 in birdies they half the par 3 in half. Both players had chances on the birdies on par 3 and then on the par 4 17. -Kent. He didn't do that. -Then he's pulled down way left. -Gosh, that was headed left. -That was my worst shot on the Big Break. -I've never seen him hit that shot. -Never. -And it's the pressure man, it's intense. -Now all Kent has to do here is to tie the hole. He will then force David to go all in for sudden death play off. -I clipped it. Gosh darn it. I clipped it. With all that pressure situation, and to me use your pressure situation for your focus. - Look at this touch. -[unk]. -He did a really good job of hitting a pretty good shot under all the circumstances. -David has a putt for $25,000. -$25,000, one putt. -When you get opportunites like that you have to take advantage of them. -Once he missed the putt, I pretty much had the putt to win the Big Break at that point. -Kent now has the putt to continue his $6,900 lead and that will mean that in the first playoff hole David must win the hole to continue on in Big Break Indian Wells, if he harms or if he losses, Kent is the winner. -I don't know what to feel on those man. It's pretty undescribable. -It's a head in your hands moment for Kent. He's just throwing away his lead. -Once I stood by the hole, I was like wow. -David now has $56,550 to his credit. -And Kent drops down to $13,450. We now had a sudden death where Kent must win this hole in order to stay alive. -So Kent has to go all in in the first sudden death hole, all his money on the table. David risking his 13450 of his money and it look like we were gonna have a half but then again, we are always wrong after on the show [unk]. -Well i just don't know what to say today to the man from Canada. -Well he was in a position where he had to win this hole, all the pressure was on him. All, David needed to do was tie the hole to win this Big Break and once again, it came down to about a 5 foot putt. Kent now has his putt to win the hole and force this match into at least 1 extra hole. -You know what he gotta do? He got to know more options. -Yeah he just got to deliver. He got to deliver the goods. -Baby, get it baby. -It was another missed putt for Kent and what a nightmare he has had in this finale. He is just falling apart with the putt before him. -I called how it is and bottom line is that I could see why people think I choked, and I did. -But I didn't think it was gonna happen to Kent. I really saw him as the better player between Kent and David, has more experience and he's played in the U.S. Open Championship. He's played in quite a few Canadian Tour Events, he's won twice in the Canadian Tour and 5 times in the Mini Tour. So you know Kent has a lot of experience. David has only just turned professional, he hasn't had the experience of playing for money but at the end of the day you gotta get the ball in the hole. David fails to get the ball in the hole for some good birdie ranges but he took care but he took care of business around the hole. Kent just didn't have a clue [unk]. -Well you know what David proved today that he was steady enough, he didn't make the major mistakes and that's all he needed to do, to win this Big Break. -Okay. I got 3 or 3 1/2 feet to win the Big Break. -[unk]. -I realized how much my mom has done for me. When I was younger I used to bring a flash light with me to hit golf balls when my mom was working 'til 11 at night. All of those little things you know creep in your mind when you think of all your hard work that my mom and I put forward to get me to where I am. -[unk] -Good job buddy. -Thanks, man. -Congrats. -I appreciate it. -Yeah. -Thank you. -The underdog won here, and you have to be very happy and pleased for him. He's a young true gentleman and I think this is gonna at least vault him forward with a lot of confidence in his career. -That's some good play right there man. -That's the beginning of your career. -Lot's of cash, never seen that much before so we're just pretty happy 'cause for a while there I think Kent was ever gonna make a mistake you know and I just kept on hitting in shifts you know, [unk] shot, [unk] shot and fair to moderate, and quite often fair to moderate the putt and it just wouldn't go in. So the kind of last you know, pretty, pretty crazy. You know driving 20 hours down here, down to the audition and yes it was all worth it. I came here to start my life so I'm pretty sure I just did it. -David Byrne came to Indian Wells with not a lot on his pocket. He walked away with 70 grand of prize package courtesy of Dicks, Adams and the Indian Wells Golf Resort and he is playing in the 2012 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. We started with 11 hopefuls, we got to know some really interesting characters but at the end of the day David Byrne wins Big Break Indian Wells.
