Emotions run high as Big Break Indian Wells champion David Byrne speaks with a Big Break producer immediately after winning the competition.
TRANSCRIPTS
-I'm a member of [unk] in Michigan and I'd run
over [unk] when I was 13 and go watch it.
I just had a chance to compute and then to
win and then to meet these great guys, you know.
It's obviously sinking in, but it hasn't really sunk in
just yet. -How excited are you gonna be as your
mom starts watching this? -Very happy. No more [unk] that's
good. But yeah, they'll be thrilled. And it was my
second edition coach told me not to go, so that's
why I'm gonna keep this with me, but yeah, lots
of cash. I've never seen that much before, so just
pretty happy 'cause we're all there, and I think [unk]
to make a mistake, you know, and I just can't
find any shift, you know, goes out [unk] [unk] putt
after [unk] putt, and they just wouldn't go in; so,
it kind of lasted, you know, but he is a
great guy and a great player and so is everybody
else here. I'm just really happy. -Imagine the look on
your mom's face when she sees-- -No. -you make that
putt? -No, no, no, no. But it's a lot of
money. -What's that gonna mean to you exactly? -I came
in to start my life, so, I'm pretty sure I
just did it. -She should be very proud. Yeah. She'll
be happy. Pretty crazy, you know, driving 20 hours down
to the audition and breaking down there and waiting to
the final leader break down here. So, yeah, it was
all worth it. So, you know, the 40 hours in
the car; so, yeah, I'm just really pleased right now.
-Guess money well spent. -Only 118 bucks in Augusta on
there. I'm a great driver in cruise control; so maybe
the best in the business really, but money was very
well spent absolutely. -[Unk]. -Thank you. -I'm very proud of
