-The history of the Big Break. -In 67 seconds. -The Big Break came to life in 2003 with tee shots down roads moving miles and Rick Smith see money [unk] all flop and Justin Peters carried away the first trophy. -Many do well. -Viewers said that was fun. Do it again. So, Viva Las Vegas and Big Break II. Big Mike, Barefoot Dave, Bart the Strip, the Sirens. Kip won. -I'm the luckiest guy on the world. -But some guy named Donatello stole the show. -Boo yeah! -Ladies only in Big Break III at the cat fights followed. Danielle met Pam. -You clearly are the better player. -Pam met Danielle. -Unbelievable. -Cindy, Val, Debbie, and the rest watched the fur fly as Danielle took the title. The Big Break IV flew to Scotland. Europe and the U.S. clashed and so did Eddie and Don. -Yeah! -I can't stand that guy. -Marty shanked. Guy with 2 clubs tee'd into a truck and Paul won his way to the European Tour. Aloha! The ladies returned in V and we've got a talent here to prove it. Becky battled back. Kim was clutched until her putter met the Pacific. Nikki, well, she was naked. -So that place in me that I touched is-- is a lie, -but Ashley was hotter than Kilauea and took the crown. -Big Break VI: 9 men, 9 women, 1 billionaire. Women going shot for shot against the men. Denny dominated and Bri took a bath then hung out with Mr. Trump in New York. 71 contestants. 7 winners. Tons of talent. Oodles of egos. Seems like a good time for a reunion, huh? -Hey. First I thought, "Well, who's gonna be in there?" You know, I didn't know. I was like-- Of course, you're thinking who else is coming back and-- and then I walk in this house that's totally empty. I'm like the first one here. Gosh, when's the next person coming in? Hopefully soon 'coz I wanna meet everybody. -I take that you are Nikki. I'm Tommy [unk] -I am Nikki. Nice to meet you Tommy. -Sweet. I was kinda nervous again just meeting Nikki because, you know, she is from L.A. and I'm South Carolina, a good 'ol country boy. So, who you think we got coming in here? -Next? Let's see. Maybe another girl. -The suspense is killing. -Hello? -Oh my god. It's-- -I'm Bri. -Bri. -Hi Bri. -Bri, Tommy. Nice to meet you. -Nice to meet you. -Well, what a beautiful woman. -I just moved here, but I'm-- I'm from Boston, but-- -Oh, you're from Boston ei? -Yeah. -The Yanks. -Alright, I already don't like you. -Let me say this. First of all, I'm not a ladies man. Let's get that out of way. Home is like not too far. -Hi. How are you? -Oh man, here we go. -Good to see you again, Briana. How are you? Is everything okay? -It was nice to see 2 nice girls, Nikki especially. I like her. Here again. -Hi. How are you? Nikki. -Eddie. Nice to meet you. -He is very cool. Really cool. So, how are you? -I'm good. How are you? -Yeah? I'm good. You smell good. -Yeah? -Uh-huh. -You look good. -Thank-- Oh, thank you. -Come here. -I didn't know what to expect. I-- you know, it's-- it's all a little mystery to her. -Oh my goodness. Hi everybody. Hi. -He had no idea I was gonna be there and I had no clue he'd come back, but then I was like. Well, maybe they'll bring him back because there are some pre-telly drama and he might wanna have a second. He's glad with that. I dunno. -Surprise! -Hi everybody. -Hey. -Kelly, I am Mark. -Hi Mark. Good to see you. -Good to meet you. I was really hoping that, you know, I'd open the door and I'd see one of my other guys from Big Break I. I get to watch all your series. You guys probably didn't watch the first one, so-- -Yeah, it's a while. -You're from the first? -I'm from the first one. -He hit so many balls it was like he had gone through 3 buckets, you know, trying to finally get it through there. -Hey. -Hey! -What? You're going on there? -How are you? -[unk] -Hi! -Hi! -It's a great chance to come out and play again and to test my nerves and to get ready and get fired up for qualifying school. -I'm interested in seeing somebody get on their head and do the yoga. -Yeah. Just show us a pose. -So, it's kinda like this and you have to go-- -Wow, that's pretty deep. -Oh my god. -This is the toughest one. -I got here. I couldn't get up. I laid here and went somebody call a doctor. -Get up like sit down. Stop talking about it. -Oh you're playing-- -Hello? Hi. -I'm Mark. -This is about having fun. This is 2 weeks of my life away from my family and it better be a good time. -You guys need to get a little game geez. You wanna rip them to shreds. -And that whole area is gonna be messed up. -Play or hate her, baby. Play or hate her. -Come on Lord. Please help me. -Boo yeah! Boo yeah! Boo yeah! -Double D. -He's talking to me. -Maybe he was coming. -Boo yeah, baby. -And then he was-- And then he was the only one-- -How you 'doin? Yeah. Good to meet you. -And then that Indian from the Big Break II came. -Yeah! -I was really so upset when they brought that Indian over. -I guess this is our country so make their own rules. -Just go out to the bushes and look for your ball because that's what the rule says. Now, you can't decide. You are not looking for it. If it's a provisional ball, you have to look for it. -I can't stand that guy. -Man, good to see you. -Good to see you. Good to see you again and not in the woods over there. -After everything, I guess I knew he didn't like me. -Tension like that just doesn't go away. -I hope he does all his circus and all his things. I'm really looking forward for that. -And then as more people started walking in, it was just like you're waiting around the corner to see what comes around next. -Like days and I'll be in good shape. -Hi. Hello! -Hi! -How are you 'doin? Hi! -Never mess with the preacher's wife. -When I walked up into the house, some old feelings came back , what's gonna happen from day to day from minute to minute. So, all those feelings came-- came back from when I had done Big Break V. -What are you 'doin? -You're Cindy. -Hi. -Hello. -And it's like Christmas and the Easter bunny and, you know, you're like "Ooh, what am I gonna get? What am I gonna get?" You don't know, but you wanna know, but you don't really wanna know. -How you 'doin? -I think I've provided some good entertainment for the show and did-- and did pretty well in performing. -I'm the best damn player here by far. I-- What I do very, very well. -I'm gonna try to win it home. -Well, I know. I'm just saying what I have to do is [unk]. -Just tell him when he comes near me to shut up. -[unk] -They don't get in here. -Hello! -Hi! -I'm kinda like okay. You know, kinda like breathe and-- and chill out and-- and start looking and "Hey! How are you?" And it's hugs and kiss to whoever I know and-- and introduce myself to whoever I didn't know. -She's ready to kick some butt. Take some names. -Who are you? -Yeah, I know she's after me. Everybody is after me. -Uh-huh. -Not really. -Not-- -I need to get-- -You just wanna hook us, man. Are you kidding me? -Hey. Want some juice? -How are you man? -It's good to see you. -I'm all done with the goofball barefoot stuff. It was fun. And I stepped on a-- [unk] or something. I got a couple stingers. It was the most pain I've ever felt in my feet in my life. -Guess who's back? The fact that I got chosen, I was like "Man, they are really scared [unk]." This one-- -Get in. Get in! -And it keeps getting alive. -Mike-- -What's goin' on? -What's goin' on? -What happened with you? You took the bus again? -Yes, you missed the putt. I'm not going by myself to Vegas. You're right back on the bus with me. Think about how crammed and uncomfortable. They must be miserable, man. -Yeah. -Bye! -Goodbye! -Have fun. -Play well. Have a great time and that's pretty much it. Alright? Have fun. -Upstairs. Wow. -They asked us to go upstairs and go into a room which we're calling a confessional. -Well, we were given a-- envelope that had our name on it. -Oh man, I'm nervous about this. -We found out that, you know, big twist. -I am just like, "Oh my god." This is Big Break VII like it-- here we go. -We found out that, you know, big twist. -We were gonna be given partners. -And that we would receive their photograph. -Well, these are gonna be your partners for the Big Break VII. -Alright. It's me. -Okay. -Let's see who it is. -Let's see if it is what I am hoping for. -Who gets stuck with me? Who gets stuck with me? -Edoardo. Oh Jesus. -Oh no, no, no, no, no. This cannot be happening to me right now. -Val. -I'd rather have Nikki as a partner to be honest. She's more my type. -I'm not happy. -Can I be more lucky? -Oh yey. -My partner is gonna be disappointed when they open up the envelope and saw my face. -Hopefully Mark's happy with being with me. I don't know. I'm all excited. -I think she might be a little disappointed that she ended up with me if she watched the first series. -Oh. -Uh-huh. -Nikki is at the door. -Me and Kelly both do yoga. Both. I love her. This is a blessing and a curse. -Bare for Dave. This will be fun. -She complained she hits it a mile. She is a very good player and great personality. We'll get along great. -If he makes me take off my shoes, we're gonna have a problem. -I have Gary. -I haven't seen her play. I-- I-- I-- I know she teaches golf like I do. -I think he's the country club guy, right? Yeah. Yeah. That's good. -I'm sure she's very credible. -I hope he's long 'coz I'm not long. I need somebody who's long. -Old people together. -I got Kim. I hope she can putt. That's all I mean-- -I've got Mike. Cool! This will be a lot fun. I look forward to it. Let's go Mike. -Wow! -My god, I've got-- I got the Big Break Champion as a partner. -Tommy "Two Gloves". I've heard a little bit about him. -I've got a good chance to win this thing now with her. -Good partner. -Man, this is-- -I'm happy. -I don't know very much about him yet. -Laura told me that Don is like the closest thing to Satan. -One of the best players from Big Break VI. I really want a strong partner because I really wanna win this thing because I need another jump start to my career. -I'm thinking it's gonna good. If not, I'm gonna have to give him the boot obviously. -1, 2, 3. -Oh! -Partner. -Could I have a kiss? -[unk] -Oh yeah. -I got Gary. -Right, right. -So lovely. -I just hit it in the hole on the driving range. [unk] I'm spent. I'm done. Send me home. -It's good. -It went in. -We're talking to enemy right now. Okay? -Talking with? -We-- -You know, she's trying to get me to lay down. -To keep [unk] -I'm 50. How old are you? -53. -Good. -This is quite a pairing I would say. -It is. -We-- We don't have 200 years of experience. We've got a few years. -Yeah. Yeah. -Alright. -Oh, keep going. Can't wait. -I'm pretty calm because if I look right there and I see moose like that-- -Gorgeous. -Moose, mongoose, whichever. -As long as I look better [unk]. I don't have to worry a thing. All I gotta do is just, you know, sit in the car and look pretty. She'll do all the work. She's a player. -I just wanna keep her loose, you know. -Look at her. She's so happy right now. And she got stuck with me. Partners who get stuck with me, you know, they have a habit of wanting to change. -Woah, woah. Bri and Kelly, change teams. -Are you two going to be able to work through whatever differences you have? -I'm just ready to go, but then also kinda a little jittery about everything. -[unk] home today. Never know though. It's one thing about the Big Break. You never know what's coming next. -So, we meet again. Hi everybody and welcome to the grand Reunion Resort and Big Break VII. It's great to see so many familiar faces. Now, you're here for a reason. You're here because of your talent. You're here because of the intangibles. You're here because of your charisma. We think it's gonna be a heck of a show. -Everything is loose in the beginning. You guys are joking around. Everything is calm, but at some point, we get to see that competitive bees in each and every single one of you. And let me tell you, some bees are a little louder than others. -Since we're at reunion, we thought, "Pam, what better place to have a reunion right now." -This morning at breakfast, Pam and my-- my other roommates had already joked that we think that that's the big shock. -You clearly are the better player. -That's not what I said. -Alright. -Danielle's gonna walk out from behind the rock. -Huh? In match play, can you mark that again? -Unbelievable. -There's somebody who said I'm like, "oh god, here comes Danielle right here from behind the rock or something" and Pam about dropped to the ground. -She was right next to me. You could feel her heart tub-tub-tum, tub-tub-tum, tub-tub-tum. -And Pam had already said she's like if Danielle walks around the rock, she's gonna throw up. -What better place to have a reunion right now. Let's bring her out. -I'm just like, "Oh my god, look at Pam, what is Pam gonna do?" -I'm like, "Oh my god, I can't believe this." I just wanna disappear. -Here she is. I'm just kidding. -Oh my whole breakfast just-- in my stomach. -I think Pam's heart probably skipped a beat. I think perhaps she's dead too. -What a dog. -Oh my god. Oh, he was speaking. -Yes! That was better than I had dreamed it. -Vince is quite a character. He-- he fooled me. -That might have been one of the best moments on any Big Break ever. -The first thing that went to my head was keep smiling. Pretend you're smiling. Just keep smiling. -That was great. -Oh my lord, with the personalities in that room right now, you throw Danielle in there, there'd be fireworks. -Wouldn't be surprised and I still wouldn't be surprised if Danielle made it-- a quick guest appearance. -We're all having a lot of fun here, but let's get down to business and let's talk about some of what we're playing for, okay? Then the prizes are terrific. First and foremost, $50,000 in cash and prizes from Ginn. Now, this includes $25,000 of Ginn resort logging and hospitality credit and you'll also get $25,000 cash money. -You'll also be offered an Adams Golf endorsement contract, which also includes $10,000 cash. -Also, our friends from Dick Sporting Goods have stepped up once again. They're gonna give the winner a 10,000-dollar shopping spree out of a gift card. -You'll start the series as teams, but at some point, you'll be competing as individuals. So, one of you will walk away with either an LPGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, or Champions Tour exemption. -And last but not the least, our friends from Chrysler have stepped up again and the winner walks away with an all-new 2007 Chrysler Aspen. Bri, got room in the garage for another one? -Ooh yeah. You bet. -Alright. -Like we said, you're gonna start off as teams. How you guys perform today will determine who you compete against in upcoming shows. This is how it'll work. You'll have a series of 3 challenges. Now, throughout the challenges, you'll accumulate points. Obviously, the team with the most points will be seeded first. Team with the lowest points will be seeded last. -The team seeded first after the day is done here will also pick up a 5,000-dollar bonus. Just for your records. -Alright, so we know what we're playing for here. Let's get to the competition. -Open seeded. Oh, you know, my mind is like going crazy. -It's not as easy as everybody thinks it is. -I visualize that ball going through the glass and the glass exploding. -Big Break merchandise plus the complete series on DVD now available at golfchannel.com. -What would be a reunion show without the glass break challenge? Here's how this first challenge will work. Each team will compete in 1 of 4 head-to-head matches. In your match, you'll bid on the number of shots you think it will take for your team to break the glass. Team that makes the lower final bid in the match will then attempt to break the glass within that number of shots. Now, if you're successful, you'll be awarded 8 points. If you fail, you'll receive 4. And the opposing team will receive 8 points without even hitting a shot. -Alright. Here's our first match-up. We have Val and Eddie and Pam and Dave. -Eddie, Val, you are team 1. What will the number be? How many times will you swing to break that glass? -I'm like, "I don't know, what you think, 6, 7", you know, and he's like, "Let's start with 7, I like 7." Well, probably 7. -7 times. -Yup. -Dave, Pam, can you beat that? -6. -Back to you guys. -You wanna try 5 or do you wanna see if they could do it in 6? -We're gonna try 5. -5. -Yeah. -Can you beat 5? -We had talked before and we figured if we got them down, if they gave us a chance to do it in 4 shots, we would take it, but we would not go any-- any lower. -Hell yeah. -He didn't even look at his partner for that one, didn't you? -4. The number is 4. -I was a little nervous about that, but he seemed very confident and I said whatever you say. I hit the ball low and I know that knockdown shot very easy. -I was feeling pretty confident about that shot myself, so I was gonna go down as low as it could take. -We-- Both of us before the shot we said, "You know what, you know, we go down into 3." -3. -Wow. Tee it up. -No one's back in the-- -I score them out. -Right, right. -3. Let's see if 3 is the magic number. -I placed my ball back on the stance closer towards my right foot and with my hands a little forward and I just make a short swing. -Oh please hit it. Oh-- You know, I'm like, you know, please god. You know, I do whatever. My mind is like going crazy. -And I hit it perfect. -Ooh! -Oh! -I'm like I can't believe it missed. It must have missed by a very, very, very few inches. -I wanna see replay. -Eddie, that was so close. -I'm thinking in myself, you know, like hit it down, you know, make a good swing. Commit to it. When I hit it, I knew it was gonna be good. -Oh! -My, my. -How did that not break? -Oh. -Val. -If I was gonna break the window, but you know, get the frame, so it was-- it was almost perfect, but it was not. -Hit the frame gently. I believe we got lucky. I thought we dodged the bullet. -Alright, Eddie and Val-- -Can we change our mind? -Last shot. -It's the last shot. -I was so sure I was gonna do it-- hit it on the first or in-- on the second. It wasn't gonna take me any more than 2 shots. -That was our last chance. I was a little nervous, but I was very confident at the same that he was gonna do it. I think so. -Yes! -Oh yes! -Wooh! -Talk about pressure, right? -We're going in. -That was close. -Guys-- -And then he just goes [unk]. That was it. Ball game 4 points. Thank you very much. We didn't want the 5,000. That's fine. -Thanks. Thank you. -That was-- -Well done. -Good action. -Nice job. -Congratulations. -We didn't step up. -He was very confident. That's what now I like about Eddie that he commit to it. -Very easy. I say for somebody who's played all his life, one who knows a little bit about this, it's very easy. -I was like, "Yeah!" -So, 8 points to Eddie Val, 4 points to Pam and Dave. -It was really fun to watch, but to stand there and do nothing and have no change to retaliate. -Good shot Eddie. -We're going in. -To just lose from sitting there was brutal. I said to Pam after is I wished we said we do in 2 or whatever, you know. I'd rather go down and swing it. -Well, my partner tells me, "Hey Guy, pretty much I'm not gonna be able to do this for you, back up their backs and fly 'em home." Are you kidding me? -David, shut up. -This Big Break Challenge has been presented by Idea Irons, the number 1 hybrid irons in golf. -Yes! -Oh yes! -Wooh! -So, 8 points to Eddie Val, 4 points-- -Wooh! -to Pam and Dave. -It's not as easy as everybody thinks it is especially when you stand up and learn to hit 16 shots at it and you still don't break it. My previous attempt was at Carnoustie on the Big Break IV. -Everybody kept talking about how he never broke the glass in his show in about how to like 16 or more shots. -I was a little hesitant on getting up there and-- and trying to break it. -Alright, match 2. Bri, Tommy versus Don and Ashley. -Tommy sitting in there saying, "We need a lot of shots, you know; we should start out with like 20 or 18." I think we're gonna start out a little bit higher than the last team. We're gonna go with 12. -12. -We definitely could do it in 11. -And then they said 10 and we got down to 6 and we could tell they were kind of uneasy like unsure. -You wanna do 6? -Huh? It's up to you. -We'll do 6. -You could really tell that they were unconfident with the shot and I said we gotta take it. We can do it in 5. -Oh, right back down. -Go ahead and do it in 5. -There it is. 5 is a number. -Step up. -That was brutal. Tommy, I've never seen a man unconfident about anything. -Here-- Here-- You have 5 shots to hit this big piece of glass that's only 15 steps from you. -I don't know what they're thinking. I mean, they're 2 of the most talented people male and female on the whole freaking Big Break history. -I would have liked to have been in more control of what had happened and hit the shot instead of sitting there hoping that they mess up. -You've hit it before. I think you do 3. I do 2. Alright? -Okay. -She's playing with a lot of confidence right now. She loves the pressure. She thrives on it. You can just feel her-- her vibe. -I think it's helping him calm down a little bit. I mean like, "Okay, you go first." And you know, if you need me to back you up, I'll do it. -Good try. And when she missed-- -I was very nervous. -He is so nervous right now. -He's [unk] bottom. -I closed my eyes and I visualized the ball going through the glass and the glass exploding and where the ball went through the glass. And I got over the ball and I felt the total calmness in myself because I'd already seen it. It already happened and I just hit the shot. -Double D! -Wow! -Oh man. -Yes! It was a great feeling. I was totally excited obviously. -I think she realized at that moment that I got a hell of a partner. -Good. -He is something else. -Oh man. -He is something else. -Typical Donatello frustrates you. [unk] nerves and hits the perfect shot that you never expect in the guy again. Unbelievable. What a talent. -8 points Double D and Ashley and 4 points Tommy and Bri. How about that? -We felt it was right and we went with it. -I'm so mad. -We felt strongly about it and-- and that's what happened. We just lost. -Alright, match 3, you're up. Cindy and Gary and Kim and Mike. -Well, my partner tells me, "Hey Guy, pretty much I'm not gonna be able to do this for you." -I never broke a glass at Kingsmill. -I wasn't confident about hitting glass. -And we're playing against somebody who's an ace. -When I had done Big Break V, this was something that I was strong at, so I felt good about it. -Ooh! -I had practiced the shot quite a bit. I actually set up a pin at home trying to hit the actual flag on the pin. -My partner was not quite as confident. -I think we can do it in 12. -I think we can do it in 8. -Ooh! They're cutting the chase. -I'm hoping that it-- it maybe scared them a little bit. -What do you think? -Let's say 7. -We're gonna-- We're gonna do 7. We were really thinking we could get down to about 3 and feel pretty confident that we could get it-- break the glass. -They were talking about 3 shots. I'm thinking you gotta be kidding me. I could be out here for an hour. 6. -What do you think, partner? I looked at her and she was cringing, you know, like if we went any lower than that, she would seem uncomfortable. We're gonna let them do it in 6. We're gonna let them do it in 6. -Wow. -Very good. -Oh, come on. -It's that easy. What's going on? -What's your name? -Cindy, show me something. -Pack up their bags and fly 'em home. Are you kidding me? -6 was way too in given that situation. -Are you kidding me? -Definitely you don't think you have any confidence if you ain't-- if you don't think you can hit the glass in 5 shots from 20 yards away. -I heard Kim is really solid. Kim will probably knock this. -Kim will do it. -She'll knock this right down. -I think we could have done 5. -Well, I have not any regret, but I mean-- -Yeah. -You seemed too confident, so-- -I can't believe 6. -6 is a joke. -Oh my god. -David, shut up. -I'm gonna keep the ball. -Visualizing the pane of glass as it was a flag stick like I've been practicing at home. Help. -Wow! How about 1? How about 1? -Kim has kicked our ass. -And everyone is like, you know, I have a big chance. I mean, she hits every shot good and-- and she's a sleeper. She could be the sleeper of the females. -Go partner! -Wooh! -I'm gonna take my hats off-- -That's pretty good. -Good job. -Her-- That was-- I mean, they went between the B and the E in the Big Break. Gary lived through the middle. As soon as they left the club, I knew it was good. -Wow! Good job. -Hop out there. -We weren't gonna win that probably because my bad karma. -If he hits the left good, it's coming right out. -[unk] -He had like 7 or 8 woods in his bag. Women. -I had to say something because it's the rules of golf. -Somebody just made a serious mistake. -Yes! -Oh! -Double D. -Yeah! -Wow! -How about one? -How about-- -You guys been watching this? -We're watching it. -3, 2 and then 1. -They're good. -It's a lot to think about-- -Oh. -as we open the bid. -Moose and mongoose. -I wanted to throw a really high number out there just to have Kelly going "oh what?" -50. -I'm gonna take that bid. -What? -Hang up. -4. -Ooh! -Ooh! -We'll take 3. -Name that tune. -We got it. -You're giving them the opportunity to beat you, but you're also taking away your opportunity to beat them. -Laura and Mark, I thought you're gonna get your 8 points. These guys will not do it in 3. -Did you want me to go first? -I do. -Okay. -He's like I can definitely get it in 2 shots for sure and, you know, you can have 1 try at it. -Look what Kelly told me-- -We saw what you did in Big Break VI. He had 3 glasses in a row. This one, you gotta take your time. You would have to set it up. All he had to do is hit like a punch 3-iron. -I mean, it's a little bit like a show-off sort of thing. -I'm just lucky that I got a club that I-- I-- you know, I know what I can do with it. -Yeah. - If he hits the left good, it's coming right out. -In the left corner, we could die. -Yup. -Oh. -Holy Christ. That's gonna kill somebody. -Damn. -So, just find yourself [unk] and you can-- once you hit the [unk] extend the route and work back. Visualize it. -Look, she's-- -He's coaching her. -Okay. -Coaching her. -Can't she do it herself? -I really took in what he said 'coz he-- why not listen to him 'coz he's an amazing shot maker. -I got you covered 'coz I'm-- I'm-- I've got the shot for the next shot. I just wanted her to get up here and just go. -Okay. The guy is gonna take care of me. -All those hours of yoga that you've been doing, let it all come together right now. -Kelly often plays into the whole like let me show you. -It's just that I get too excited about what I'm doing that I'm just like wanting the world to know "Yeah, this is fun. Look what I'm doing. This is-- This is how I-- I do it." It's alright babe. It's alright. -I can't believe he's taken the driver to try to hit this. -I had utter faith in him, complete faith in him. -He had a better chance of making it to missing it having a second look at it. -I'm just gonna put the ball the exact same spot right where she would get one. I just angled myself around ready to go and I've got it and soon I realized this is perfect. I can do it. -He's so good. -What I'm talking about. -[unk] -That is unbelievable. -All the men of course were saying what does he think he's doing and I was very pleased for him that he broke it and so the-- everybody stopped chit-chat after that. -You know, he looked like an absolute genius. -Kelly is in a lot of ways like Donatello. He does stuff that looks weird. And just when you roll your eyes in his decision, he hits the shot and proves he's one of the best shot makers I've ever seen. -I like their strategy. It just didn't pay off. -You are hot. -Thanks sweetie. -You are so hot. -When we got back in the carts, we were driving behind him. I didn't know he got a bunch of clubs in yesterday before we started. -We looked at his bag and he had like 7 or 8 woods in his bag. Wait a minute. -Before the challenge, they were very clear with us over and over again telling us check your clubs. Get 14 clubs whatever. -How the hell would this guy who just like no more than 30 minutes got rule sheet about our rules and regulations-- -I had to say something because it's the rules of golf. -I don't know if he was off in Kellyland, not paying attention, but he obviously wasn't thinking. -And how can you have 18 clubs in your bag. Somebody has just made a serious mistake. -We looked at his bag and he had like 7 or 8 woods in his bag. Wait a minute. -Some were just in his room and so he was excited about it. He wanted to chip around here today with it. -Oh, the bag's with me. -Yeah. -Oh my god. It was wrong, totally wrong. I mean, what a shame. -I was just so confused all morning. My bag was out and I was tired and I just-- This one thing led to another thing. -I had to say something because it's rules of golf. -So, we ended up losing the match instead of winning. So, instead of getting 8 points, we got 4. -It's our first Big Break. We lose. We win. We win. We lose. Hey, that's what-- that's-- Laura's-- my modus operandi so far. We already have controversy. -1 challenge. -I haven't hit a ball on the show yet. -After the first of 3 seeding challenges, 4 teams lead the way with 8 points. The others have 4. Point totals at the end of the 3 challenges will be used to assign team match-ups in upcoming episodes. As a bonus, the top seed will win $5,000 from Plastpro fiberglass store. -Good to see everybody again and our next seeding challenge takes us here to number 6 at the Independence Watson Course. Kelly, as you know, it was discovered you had more than 14 clubs in your bag. Therefore, now the 8 points will go to Mark and Laura instead, but the good news here is this is another chance to pick up points, another chance to put that one behind you and concentrate on your next shot. -In the second challenge, you're about a 182 yards to the hole. It's playing slightly uphill and you could feel this breeze. It's right in our faces. Nail each of the shot. We'll take the best shot of your team. The team that's closest to the hole will earn 8 points, second closest 7 points, and so on all the way down to 1 point. -One more thing guys, you're on your way in picking up these points to winning the top seed and that means $5,000. -In random draft order and Bri and Tommy, you're gonna start this off. Let's get to it. -It was a really tough challenge because the wind was blowing. Anytime you get the wind blowing like that, then I think it adds a lot more intensity and toughness to the shot. -You know, I wanna see everybody swing and I wanna see how they hit the bomb. See how they perform under pressure. Just, you know, check all the competitors out. -It was interesting to see what's gonna happen to someone's swing under the pressure because the 7-iron, and 8-iron, and wedge even tee'd up drivers aren't as hard as hitting that shot under pressure in front of strangers that you're just getting to know. -Alright. Bri is starting this off. -Good luck Bri, Tommy. -We had to go first, which I thought was kind of a little bit of a disadvantage. It was playing a good 215 into that wind. And if your ball got up there, it was just hitting a brick wall and coming straight down. Hit! I got up there and I pushed it out a little bit and it just rode the wind and just hit it and keep straight down. It was just a horrendous shot. -188 yards. 20, 25 mile hour wind. I was like I need to play this about 200 yards. I think 200 is a good yardage. So, I took my 6-iron and hit it. -Play back in the stance, try to keep it down. -Hang on. -He is definitely not a low ball hitter and that's gonna hold up. -Alright. It's fine. -6-iron. Too time-- Too much club hit it long. Jesus, I knew I should hit 7. -It's a homemade swing that his mother would love and then his financial advisers are gonna love too when he gets on tour. This kid's a real deal. -So, Two Gloves, not the result he wanted, but again, this could be a very, very tough competition here. -Alright, our second team's up. Don and Ashley. -You know, this is our fire and ice team. -Just trust your instincts. We compliment each other. We-- We have a lot of fire. We don't wanna lose. We believe that we're the best and that we are gonna win. Get up! -It's a good swing. -Get up! -It was. -Hang on. -You're talking about tempo. -Go! -Wow! -Great shot! -He's on. -Nice shot. -Very nice. -Thanks. -You're talking about tempo. -Beautiful tempo though. -Very nice. -We're on our roll. -Ashley did what she had to do and she's the leader and she hit it on the green. Ashley relieved a lot of pressure off me 'coz I thought, you know, 30 feet was pretty good from that distance with the wind the way it was blowing. -Trying to smash it. Good job. God damn. -I have been telling him all day long to calm down and simmer down and just relax like you're gonna drive me insane. Just calm down. -Get it tight! Get it tight! -Keep that tape loose! -Get our tape-- -They know it's me so they're taking their time. Hold that thing tight! Pull the tape tight! Pull that tape tight! -He can't believe-- He thinks they're gonna cheat him, avenge, or something. -Hold that thing tight! -Don is convinced that he is the Czar of Tape Measures. Maybe he should work at a hardware store if golf doesn't work out. -So, we have a new leader now with Don and Ashley. We stretched the tape tight and came off with that number. -Sure. -Come on. -Keep coming. -Yes. -Keep coming. -Come on. -I'm on the fly 'coz I hit it right into the mound. I hit that about 2-- 220 'coz it's 180 and I hit my 3-wood. -And a weird thing happened to me. I mean, I walked up to hit my shot and everybody else was hitting into a really steady headwind and I walked up, went to stay over the ball and I only brought 1 club with me, wind absolutely and utterly stopped. Doldrums. Nothing. Flared it. You know, I just try to take a really, really easy swing. I quit on it and I just-- I hit an awful shot. I hit just a little horrible queer shot. -Right. -Yeah. -Sorry. -No, no, it's alright. -I wanna measure it. -Laura's shot-- It's just a bad moment for me and I felt like I let my partner down because of my range. I was lasering those shots. -Again, being the gentleman, she asked me to go first. -No offense, but I like the pressure on me, so I kinda told Gary I'm going last. -She felt comfortable for me putting something on the board to free her up the swing. You know, I was glad to do so. -Keep right. Get down! Right! Right! Alright, good shot. -Wind died. -It's alright. -I hit-- I clubbed perhaps one too many. -What you hit? The 4? -I hit the 4. I was looking for that wind. -Might as well just bun-- take driver and, you know, bun it up there and punch it because I knew I couldn't carry 3-wood over the bunker, not into the wind. I'm not gonna do it. I'm not long enough. -Be right. -Cut. -Cut! -Cut! -Cut! -Man, that was a good shot. -Good strike Cindy. -Good try partner. -Thanks. Tried it partner-- -Hang in there. -Crap. Well, I'm pissed at the kick, you know, but I-- I can't control that. It's called the rub of the green. -Hey, you know what? Great-- Great swing. You know, you had a chance at it. Got unlucky, you know. -If it would've landed probably 2 or 3 feet longer, it will roll right down there near the hole. It would have been-- She would have probably rolled on the ground. -He says he can pull it off. -He just got some good hands I tell you, man, but this is like cuckoo. -Always praying that she hit real close. -They didn't say 1 word to one another. -Play your way into the Big Break VIII final audition by joining the Golf Channel Amateur Tour. Visit golfchannel.com for your shot at the PGA Tour exemption. -Do you want me to go and hit my 3-iron and let you know how or what I think it is? -Let me know. The better if I hit first. -Whatever you want. -They've done well. -I don't care. -I think Dave is bugging Pam. -If I go first, I'll have a better shot than if I go second. -Really? -So, I'll take the pressure off you. -Sure, yeah, do whatever you want. -She looked at me and said, "Can you please tell my partner to shut up?" And I-- I think he might drive her insane. I really do. -I just think that wind is howling. -I'm already an adult. I'm embarrassed. -How is the relationship of your team at this point? -It's excellent. It couldn't be better. It couldn't be better. -Look at this. -B. -Good shot. -Look at that. -David-- -David. -David. -I think it was the shoes. -It's the-- You got to be the hero. -It gave it a little more stability. -Echo baby, echo. -It's gotta be the shoes. -Dave performed. I can't complain. -That was a good swing, Pam. It just turned a little. Good swing. Real good swing. It's alright. -Too much club, huh? -I like your swing. -Hey, I don't need to do much swing either when you hit it like that. -Dave 7 yards 6 inches. -Good job. -Very nice. -But certainly beatable. -I wanna hit a good shot. I don't care about-- Oh, I gotta beat this person. I want to just hit-- hit the best shot I could possibly hit. -Always praying that she hit it real close 'coz I wanted her to just get a boost of confidence. -That's the Canadian man way of doing it. -Kelly just pulled a chest hair to check the wind. -Alright partner. Good thoughts. Feel the shot. Feel the rhythm, pal. -Look at this. -Spin right, baby. -It's long. -Cut in that wind. So, a little long there. -It's long. -It was well struck, partner. -Good luck. -A little bit long and soft. -He was hitting a driver. -This is off the ground. Look at this off the ground with the driver. -That is a driver? -This is a real nice shot to hit into the wind. With a lot of club, you just have to come and land by the flag softly. -He's probably 60% talent and 30% showman. -He says he can pull it off. -He just got some good hands I tell you, man, but this is like cuckoo. -I don't think there's 1 person there that will take a driver off the deck and he is-- That's his shot. He loves that shot. So, he's not trying to show off. He is a good shot maker period. He is an amazing-- amazing shot maker. -He's hitting the driver off the deck just because it's that hard to do and he's that good. -Get right. -Turn. Fuck. Fuck. -Too much club. -Ooh. -Sorry partner. I might have too much dick. -My partner's a stud. -I would never use a different thing though. -Good shot. -Thanks. I hope you're pulling that tight ei. -Pull it tight! We're both long. -I know, I guess-- -Go figure. -In that wind, I don't know. I get so much-- -Lowest ego emission. -You know, I talked to Eddie and asked Eddie what I should do. So, he says, "You know Val, I-- I think that, you know, make an easy 4-wood and just make sure that you get it straight." -The swing, it is-- it is plenty of club. -Uh-huh. My swing is so quick that, you know, I'm-- when I hit it easy, I always go to the right and that's what I did. I make an easy swing and went to the right. So, what can I do? You know, I'm not perfect. You know, everybody is perfect so I screwed up that one. -I just wanted to-- to hit the shot that I had in my mind to get my confidence getting higher for-- for the upcoming challenges. -Oh boy. -I had made sure to fade. I showed before. I don't know and I hooked it, so it was some-- much confidence after that. -They looked very not happy with each other after-- After the second challenge, they-- they weren't talking a whole lot. -They didn't say 1 word to one another. -Eddie's ball is out of bounds, so they're forced to take Val's and that's gonna be a good distance away from the hole. -You're in dangerous ground right now, Eddy and Val. -Go for it. -I think all the guys have been going first. -Yeah, the girls went first early. Yeah. -This was one of Mike's strengths. He's very good iron player. Very good with his hybrid woods. -Accuracy, distance control, that's where I'm-- probably the strength of my game so I was excited to get out there and get started. -Hey Mike, this is-- this is you. This is all you. Where-- This isn't quite my strength. -I think I aimed a bit far. -Uh-huh. My partner has shot to the right a little bit, one of her best shots, but I-- I had said then that I've-- I felt really comfortable on what I was gonna do. -When the wind blows and you give him a little shorter distance, he's gonna shine like, you know, a silver quarter. -Get back there. Oh no. -Come down! Good shot though. Thank you man. -Sorry partner. -No, that's great. Darn if he didn't have a great shot. He knocked it up there close. -Mike hit one that never left the flag just like mine. It looked like it was put away from where we were. -7 yards 1 foot. -7 yards 1 foot. -Wow. Just missing first place. -Better pull the tape tight I might get that 6 inches. -He missed by 6 inches of beating Pam and I for the challenge. -But that's a solid, solid effort now. -Moving to second place. It's well done by Mike Foster. -We're trying to get that 5 grand, pay a couple of bills. Send the money home to our sponsors right on the wind. It's all about the cash. -She was playing it like what a bunch of losers we are. I said, "Well, why are you talking like that?" -Johnny, get that on camera. Let me tell you that was good. -Good Tommy. -2 of 3 seeding challenges are complete and Kim and Mike have a slight lead over Ashley and Don. The team finishing with the top seed after the final challenge will win a 5,000-dollar bonus courtesy of Plastpro. -There is no point in seeing me-- seeing if anybody-- ooh, it's the best flop shot on the driving range. No, thanks. -Oh my god. -Yeah, it's game on baby. -Yeah. -Yeah. -Totally. I mean-- -It's on like the Donkey Kong. -And we're gonna hit the shot that it takes. And if they beat us, then they deserve to win, but we're gonna give them something to fight for. -I assume the whole lot is gonna be worth something, you know. -Yeah, it should be, huh. -I hope so. -Why don't we do that? -That would take 2-- -Let's just knock it in. -2 of those is like, you know, champagne tonight. -We'll just take it at 1 challenge at a time and of course we would have liked to perform better, but again, the kind of stuff we've been doing I don't think displays exactly all the stuff we got going on. -I'm a little bit more testy. -Yeah, he needs to calm down. Stop worrying about your shaft that cost $50 like Kelly had sheer class. -Oh, $50. -Just get in the cart. -Just a little. -Well gang, here we are at number 9 at the Independence Watson Course and it's our last seedings challenge and the last time you can have that points grab. And from the looks of the scoreboard, the door is wide open. Well actually, the door is shut, but for purposes of what we're talking about here, it is wide open for somebody to step up and courtesy Plastpro Doors pick up $5,000 for winning the points challenge and seedings challenge. What we have for you is a flop shot. -A member on each team will hit a shot. The objective here is to get as close to the hole as possible. If you're happy with that first shot, great. That's your score. If you're not, you have the opportunity to give that chance to your teammate. Now, if you put that second ball into play, that is your score. That first shot? It's gone. So, the team that is closest to the hole gets 8 points. Again, second team closest 7 points and so on all the way down to 1. So, it's either 1 shot or 2. It's up to you. -Now, if you hole that shot, you'll earn 12 points. So Gary and Cindy, you can really jump up in the point standings and I can't tell you how important it is to have a good seeding for the next show. And we'll start with the low point total first. So, Cindy and Gary, you'll lead us out. -I told her straight out. I said, "You know, let's hole it." Who really gives a crap? -I knew we didn't have a prayer. -She was playing it like what a bunch of losers we are. I said, "Well, why are you talking like that?" -And I assumed that we were gonna come in last. Sorry. -Okay. -It's a hard shot. So, unfortunately, she hit the wall. It was my turn. -Here comes the camera star. -This-- a full swing and it's really soft hands. He let club face past the hands and it just gives you the chance to get the thing up in the air high and soft. -Good shot Gary. -Right. -Good swing. -It comes through the door and socket. -I knew it was a little long. -Oh, it's alright. We'll get it over the wall, alright? -Yeah. -It's fine. -I was able to get it over the wall, but I hit it a little too hard. -And I was proud of Gary for getting it over the wall. -Let's do it, Tommy. -Well, we had 8 points. And if I'm not mistaken, that was like 7th out of 8 teams. It was really no good. I mean, we feel like we're the best team out here. -We really didn't have any strategy about who is gonna hit. We didn't really discuss it too much. He just-- He was gonna go first and I was fine backing up if-- if he didn't hit a good one. -Having that wall in front of me was kind of, you know, it could have been an intimidation factor if you land it, but you know, I'm-- I'm not really intimidated by too many things. -Oh, that was so good. Get in. It's so good. -Nice shot, Tommy. -Right here stepping down, now trust me. -That's awesome, dude. -I hit it 5 feet 10 inches and I was very happy with that. -Yeah, that was pretty good. I thought that 5 feet was gonna be hard to beat. -Johnny, get that on camera. Let me tell 'ya, that was good. -Good Tommy. -I should go and he-- -You go ahead. You just simply do it. -I said to Eddie, "Eddie, you know man, you know, I don't wanna do it." Dude, you first and then if we like it we just leave it and he's like, "Nah, just do it." -Yeah, I mean, I don't mind. I am confident, Valerie, if you don't hit a good shot, I go ahead and I hit it anywhere I am inside 10 feet. I-- I would do that. Don't worry. -I didn't wanna embarrass myself. I didn't wanna hit the wall or anything like that. You know, open that face and just let it go. -Great shot, Val. Spin! -And that's what I did and wow! A good shot came out and I'm like, "Is that me? Hello!" I opened that door and I'm like "Wooh! Hello! Wooh!" -7 feet. You wanna take that or shall I go? -I said hello, whatever, if you hit any decent thing within 10 feet around the bin and then that-- that's good. We only need anything like that. -Whatever. What do you think? -I would take that. -Alright. -It was not good enough to win, you know, to beat Tommy, but hey, I made it. -Put it anywhere, darling. Make sure you hit it aligned, okay? -Can he help her hit it? -According to Dave, we had already won the 5,000. -Okay guys, don't forget seeding is on the line, but also that $5,000. -One thing you do is you wanna swing it, alright? -Uh-huh. -Sweet peas, you gotta swing nice and slow, smooth on the back swing. I just wanted to just feel like yeah, no problem. Just have a free hit at it 'coz Kelly is gonna come and clean up for me. What number would you like? 1? -1. -Okay. You are the one. -He's gonna pick the ball up for her. He's picking the ball up for her. -Put it anywhere you like, darling. Make sure you hit it aligned, okay? -Okay, okay, okay. -Okay? -Yeah. -Remember it's all fun. I got you covered. -Can he help her hit it? Can he get behind her and-- -Oh. -Good girl. So, focus. Do your breathing, whatever you have to do, honey. -I took a 56 and then I just opened up the face. Woah, I gotta pitch harder. -Knock-knock. -I knocked. -Who's there? -I hit the door on my shot. I was knocking on the door and no one opened. -Keep on knocking and that door is gonna open eventually. -Nikki [unk] She doesn't need to play well. She looks good. -He's gonna saute a mid iron. -A 3 iron. -Kelly's hit a driver off to that golf. The building coming back. -Unbelievably easy. I mean, I had not a fear in the world to that shot. -You just know he's gonna hit a 3 feet. -Yeah. -You know it. -This is gonna be close. -America, 3 feet. -Ooh. Hit it fat. -Hit it long and left. So, I messed up. -I can't bear to look at that. Sorry. All those hours of practice. That's so embarrassing. I'm sorry. I hit it as fat as Jackie [unk] 24. -25-2. -Oh man, I hope we got it over the wall. That's embarrassing. -Tommy's 5 feet 10 inches is still holding up. It's the best so far and it could make a big, big move. -We got 10 points after the second challenge. After the second challenge, first place team has got 15 points. We're placed well. We're in the middle of the pack, so she and I are feeling good about this. Yeah, we had a strategy. We thought, you know, Laura is gonna hit first. On Big Break VI, Laura is the only person that went over the wall. -You got it over. -That's all I cared about. -Got it over. -I thought okay, she's-- she's got the shots. No problem. Shake it off. -It's easy to hit it fat on this lie. It's-- It's a pretty tight lie. -I was a little surprised when she didn't get it over. I thought alright, well, no big deal. No sweat. It's my all-time best probably moment on Big Break from a shot perspective 'coz I felt really comfortable taking that shot and, you know, I've practiced. I was feeling really comfortable hitting these flop shots. -Oh my god. Oh, terrible. Terrible. Like I-- he needs to over to Dick's and buy a tennis racket. Need to change sport. -For a team that was at 10 points to begin with, they were sitting in great shape. That hurts. -It does. -Sorry. -That's alright. I did the same thing. -I kinda scooped under. I just hit a fat shot and just scooped under the wall, so Laura and I never even hit a ball over the wall. Can we walk through the door? There's nobody home. -Yup. I feel bad 'coz he-- I know he was disappointed in himself with a lob shot over the-- the wall with the door. -David and Pam started this challenge with 12 points. They're sitting pretty in third place right now. -According to Dave, we had already won the 5,000. He's very confident. -I don't practice putting. I just like to hit lob shots. So, flopping it, I have no issue getting over the wall. And Pam is watching me so she's like I'll go first on this one and if it's not real good, you're gonna go. -No worries. I got you. -Got it. -I gotcha. -He would have gone no matter what. Who are we kidding? Even if I had put it in, he would have tried to hole it. -Pam didn't have a great shot, hit the wall. And I hit one that I thought was good, but the face has just closed an extra maybe 2 degrees and it went too far. -Okay, we'll go through the door. -Sorry. Damn it. That's right, puke. I'm sorry. -Nay. -I had such a good lie and now not going so far. -But at that time, it gave us some-- enough points to wear off the last 2 groups fizzled. Yeah, we're the winners. -When Ashley got her shot, I said just trust-- trust yourself. -We really have to step it up a notch in order to win the money. -We will go for the win. -I think the confessional is where you get some good stuff from us. -Where should we begin? -We got drama. -This Big Break challenge has been presented by Plastpro Fiberglass Doors. -6 if the 8 teams have already competed in the final seeding challenge, the flop wall. Bri and Tommy shot of 5 feet 10 inches is currently the best in the challenge, but it's Pam and Dave who are in the best position right now. Currently third place in this challenge, they are for the moment at least holding the top seed overall and in the running for the 5,000-dollar bonus from Plastpro Fiberglass Doors, but 2 teams are left to play; Ashley and Don and Kim and Mike, the 2 top-ranked teams going into this final challenge. -Tommy and Bri at 5 feet 10, still the best score. -Eddy and Valerie, 7 feet 8 inches. -Don and I were talking and he said, you know, I'm-- I feel really confident with you hitting it first and you seem relaxed and sure of yourself. -I said if we hit it within 5 feet from the hole, then we're going to keep that. -I knew I just needed to get up high over that wall, and if I got it up high, it was gonna be landing soft. -When Ashley got up to hit her shot, I said just trust-- trust yourself. -I went in and I trusted my flop shot that I knew I had. -Oh. -Great shot. -Oh. -She has won it right there. -Yeah, they just won. -We're done now. -Nice. -We're done now. -Yeah. -[unk] -Here. And I ran over there and opened the door like a gentleman should and-- -Thank you. -she got to see it and you could just see how happy she was. -I knew that she was pretty good, but I didn't know that she had these type of shots. -She hit that shot so delicately and so clean that she didn't have any wasted energy. She just-- like it was something she does everyday of her life. -Hey, I love you. -She was brilliant today. -Don and Ashley have all but locked up the top seed. The only way they can catch them right now is to get inside 3 feet 11 inches. -It put a lot of pressure on Mike and I because now they've turned up to-- to have the most points and we really have to step it up a notch in order to win the money. -We got right down to it. We figured we got this far. We will go for the win. -We played well the entire day and we said if they hit it inside of us, they deserve to win the money obviously because they played just as well as we had. -It wasn't that hard a shot to get over the wall. -Doesn't cover. -And so it was my turn. Again, I really feel confident. This shot is something that I did well in Big Break V. -Very nice. -Thanks. -She says this is one of her favorite shots and she performed it incredibly well when she won it back in Big Break V. -You did all you can do. -Yup. I did it. -If somehow she beats us, she deserves it. -Yup. -If she doesn't beat us, then nice. It's the way it is suppose to be. It's the way it's planned up. -I stepped up to it. I hit a wonderful shot over the wall. It ended up kicking a little bit left right outside of Ashley's. -Good try, hun. Good try though. It's not good enough, but it's good. She hit a great shot on me. It got a bad bounce, but I mean, she hit a great shot. -And I didn't know until I walked through that door. When I walked through that door, I saw that I was a little bit long. I-- I was really disappointed that I didn't win the money. -We did it. -I mean, we lost by a foot to the second place team, which we needed to finish second after Ashley hit a 3-feet. So, no, she-- she did exceptional. -They only beat us by point -It's alright. It's not your fault. -We're still in good shape. We're still seeded well and I can't imagine what's gonna happen tomorrow. -I was so excited. I mean, 1st day, twenty-five hundred dollars. I can't wait for tomorrow. -You know, I can't explain the feeling that I was feeling. I just knew that with all the stress I'm dealing with my life right now financially, that twenty-five hundred dollars was gonna help me to have another month to figure out where I was going in my life. -I just hope we stay partners. I don't wanna have to play against her.
