-Hi, and welcome with this GolfChannel.com Extra. I'm Win McMurry, joined by Rex Hoggard, Senior Writer at GolfChannel.com, and we are going one on one, mano y mano, doing our fantasy picks this week. Rex, are you ready for this? -I think I am. Let's-- Wait, wait. What's that sound? Oh, it's footsteps 'cause it's me coming from the back of the pack. Second the last 2 weeks ago, 5th right now. -Congrats on that. Guess you moved in to number 1? -I admit [unk] that one. -Alright. -Well, 2 tournaments this week. We have the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am as well as the tournament in Dubai on the European Tour. So, who's hot this week in Pebble? Who do you like? -You know, I have to go with Tiger Woods, and it really boils down that there's only 2 numbers that count this week when it comes to Tiger Woods; 15, that's how many he won by when the US Open was played at Pebble in 2000; and 24, how many putts he needed on Sunday in Abu Dhabi. Like both those numbers. The next guy on the list for me would be Nick Watney. He's a Northern Cal guy, finished tied for 6 last year at Pebble. I like the way he's trending. -You like Watney. Okay. Well, I am with you with Tiger, but I actually like Phil this week. I'm actually giving him the edge in the hot category. -Really? -Phil Mickelson, you know, he's, I think, shaken the rust off. If he wants to take advantage of the West Coast, he's-- you know, time is running out, I think this could be his week. He has a couple of victories out there. So, I'm going with Phil. -Sounds like wishful thinking. Watch out. -Yeah, we'll see. Alright. Who do you not like at Pebble? -You know the one guy I don't like is the guy that's had great success there. I know everyone is gonna kind of raise their eyebrows on this, but Dustin Johnson. He, in 3 starts of the season, not been a hundred percent. You haven't seen all that much production out of him. So, I don't know if I pick him. Hunter Mahan is the other guy. He's flown close to 35,000 miles in the last 2 weeks. Stay away from jet lag. -Okay. In group 1, my dislikes at Pebble are also Dustin Johnson, same reasons that you mentioned. Also, Ian Poulter, tied for 45th last week. He has a new baby. Focus, I'm not sure he's quite there. Patience,-- -I like that. -you know,-- -Good start. Alright. -Yeah. Not with him. Alright. So, who do you like in Dubai? -Rory McIlroy, and I know that's a pretty easy pick. He took all the last week. Spent the week at The Els Club in Dubai working on his putting, and he would have won at Abu Dhabi had he driven it even a little bit better. So, I love Rory. -Alright. I'm taking Alvaro Quiros. -Really? -The long-hitting Spaniard for the hot trick. I mean, it's already been an unusual year. We had, you know, Kyle Stanley come back and win after his playoff loss, I think, you know. Is he a hot trick? You know, unusual trends going on? -Okay. I like the beginning. He's a good pick. -Yeah. -Right. -I just like. -That one was kind of tough 'cause you go down the list. Francesco Molinari is the one that stuck out to me. He's such a great ball striker, struggles so bad on his putting. He is the one I would stay away from when it came to [unk]. -Alright. For number 1, that group in Dubai, Miguel Angel Jimenez, I'm staying away from him. 48th last year and he's also not finished better than 42nd in his last two starts out on the European Tour, so I'm staying away from him. -It's a good start. -Alright. Thanks so much, Rex. Good luck with your picks.
