Robert Rock fends off Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy to win Sunday at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
TRANSCRIPTS
-Robert, you told us on Saturday night after you were
tied for the lead with Tiger that you weren't sure
how you were going to sleep or react-- -Uh-huh. -to
the situation on Sunday. So, how did you sleep and
how did you feel today? -I slept I think it's
about 4 or 5 o'clock. And then, I-- I was
really nervous on the way here. But then, it seemed
things seem to get a little better. I start warming
up and I saw a few people going around and
I just calm down a little bit and hit the
ball well on the range and I was all right
when I got that first tee. It was quite surprising.
-How does this victory feel compared to your first victory
last year on the European Tour? -How the-- it's very
different, very different. The first one take-- took such a
long time and it was such a-- a relief and
George actually win. -Rocky, Rocky, Rocky, Rocky. -And this week
has been really special. And playing with Tiger today was--
was good enough but to actually win was just fantastic.
-What does it mean to beat Tiger Woods not only
in the same field but head to head in the
final group on a Sunday? -Well, I don't know. It's
just-- I just feel like I don't believe I've done
it. I feel very lucky and-- -Robert, you're the man.
-it kept putting the pressure on and-- and-- but, I
guess the birdie on-- birdie on 16th gave me a
little bit of-- a little space for the last couple
of holes and I think I needed that. -When you
see the name Tiger Woods-- -Uh-huh. -on top of the
leaderboard after 54 holes, is it still as intimidating as
it used to be? -Yeah. Yeah, it sure is. But,
it's an opportunity you can't-- you can't miss. You've got
to-- you've got to want it to play with him
and-- and he was a gentle player. He plays really,
really good. -I appreciate the time. Congratulations. -Thank you.
