Rory McIlroy discusses his final-round 69 that put him one back of winner Robert Rock Sunday at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.

-All right. Thank you. Rory, at what point did you
realize that you had a chance to get that victory
and then at what point you think it got taken
away from you a little bit? -I realized whenever, at
birdie 13 they get the 11 on there and then
you know made a grip at par 7-14 and then
going up to the 15th green. I looked at the
leaderboard and saw that I was only you know, 1
shot behind you know, and had a good chance on
15 and on 17 to make birdies and didn't quite
make the putts and then I saw Robert birdie 14
and 16 and they're like 2 of the toughest holes
in the course with a birdie. So you know, if
he goes on to win he certainly deserved it. -How
do you balance the positive of a good finish with
the negative of not getting the victory? -You know you
gotta take the positives you know. It's the 1st week
of the year and you know, this is, looks like
it's gonna be the 2nd year in a row here
that I'll finish 2nd but you know still a very
good start to the season and something to build on.
-So you're gonna build and you're gonna skip a week
and then you're gonna play Dubai. So in between, what
will you work on here in the desert? -Just work
on still the same things that I have you know,
worked on. You know coming into this week a little
bit of posture, trying to get the club on the
right position on the way back and I felt like
you know, this week I improved off the tee everyday.
I didn't miss the fairway until the 11th of today.
So you know that was a big improvement and something
I still have to work on. -Nice work. See you
