-Hi. I'm Michael Breed, host of the Golf Fix. Our question today comes to us from Jessie in Goldsboro, North Carolina. I've always had a big problem with missing putts to the right side of the hole by a ball width. When I adjust the putter face a little to the left from my normal alignment then I start missing to the left. What can you suggest to get me on the mend? Alright, Jessie. You know what? There's nothing more aggravating than missing putts particularly when you then change your alignment and then you start missing. So this is gonna help you. What I've done here is I've taken 2 hangers and I've set them up so that there's just a little channel going down the line and basically what I've got is I've got that channel right in between my golf ball and the hole. Now the first thing that is critical to being successful in putting properly, making putts and even full swing, but making putts is alignment. So many times you align yourself improperly. Well what this is gonna do is it's gonna allow you to align yourself correctly. What you're gonna do is you set that up so you got your little channel then you're gonna put your golf ball so that it's right in the middle of that channel going down the line there to the hole. Now the first thing you're doing when you get in here is you're gonna set up and you're gonna look at this. This is gonna paint a picture of what the alignment has looked like. So for me I haven't done this drill in a while. This feels like that I'm aligned a little to the left. So that tells me that over time I've been aligning up myself close to the target. So I'm gonna do this drill and then all I'm gonna do is I'm gonna hit this ball down that line and when it goes through there it doesn't hit anything, that's gonna help me with my stroke and my putter face. So remember, 2 coat hangers right here. Get that golf ball on that line, helps you with alignment and helps you with your stroke and that's gonna help you make more putts. What's also gonna help you become a better player is to stay right here on GolfChannel.com and search the entire site. You're gonna find a number of instructors with great tips to help you play better golf. And the other thing that you can do is you can watch the Golf Fix every Monday night, 7 and 10 pm Eastern. I'm Michael Breed, the host, we're here to help you play better golf.
