Hi, I'm Michael Breed, host of The Golf Fix. Today is Facebook Question, it comes to us from Will Lambert. How do I start the backswing on the right path? All right Will, this is another question that I get a lot. Very simply, what we're gonna do is we're gonna get 2 alignment rods. We're gonna set this alignment rods behind the ball on the target line, so if I'm trying to hit the ball down this line here, just to the right of that blue flag, I'm gonna set that path just like that. Then, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna tee the ball up on the front part of that path. Now, what I wanna do is I wanna keep that clubhead in that channel, pointing that club shaft into that space. What you are gonna notice in this down line view, is that this club is gonna move on an arch, because I'm still pointing that shaft into that channel just like that but the head will come out of the channel. The right path is making sure that that shaft is pointing down that line, initially, the head is gonna start in there, and now it's gonna swing out as we start to go this way, that's the right path for that club to move back in. So you need to get a couple of these alignment rods, set them on the target line, do a little rehearsal, you've seen a lot of players make this little mock backswings before. Do that little rehearsal, and then make that swing just like that, and that's how you're gonna make sure that you start that club on the right path. The other thing that you could do is you can watch me, Michael Breed every Monday night, 7:00 PM. It's called The Golf Fix and it's about improving your game.
