Hi, I'm Michael Breed, host of The Golf Fix. Our question comes...

Hi, I'm Michael Breed, host of The Golf Fix. Our question comes today for Tony in Vancouver British Columbia. I do really well with my driver on the practice range, but once I get up to the tee box with friends or strangers, I always try to hit it hard and overswing? How can I slow myself down? Well, the way you saw yourself down here Tony is this, when you get up on to the range to practice, what I want you to do is I want you to pick different targets. In other words, what you do is you stand out here, you let driver after driver the exact same target and you get this feeling that you're doing some positive practice. Truth of the matter is, is that that kind of practice is nothing like what's going on, on the golf course. What I want you to do is I want you to pick a target over here, that you're gonna aim at, then pick a target over here that you're gonna aim at. And maybe do 10 of them, maybe take 10 balls, put it aside and you're gonna hit 10 drivers to different targets, and then evaluate. Did you hit 30% of your drives at the target? Did you hit 80% of your drives at the target? And what you're gonna find out is, is that when you get out on the golf course, the reason why you are not successful out there, 'cause I don't think you are successful on the practice tee as you could be, so pick different targets with that driver and switch every single time. Never hit two times in a row to the same target. What you're gonna find is that this practice tee success will transfer to the golf course when you practice properly. You wanna find us? We're on every Monday night at 7:00 PM. It's called The Golf Fix. I'm Michael Breed. We'll see you then.
