-Here on the Morning Drive studios for GolfChannel.com with Gary Williams, I'm Erik Kuselias. And Tiger Woods had a press conference and he made a pretty bold statement. He had an idea and a solution to solve what he thinks is a problem in golf. He'd like to get rid of any of the anchored or long, whatever you want to call it, putters and said, "Simple, we just make sure that the putter is the shortest club in your bag. It can't be any longer than the shortest club in your bag." He says, "All in favor?" Do you say I? -No, I don't say I. I appreciate what he is saying-- -Yup. -but I don't agree with the idea that, you know, because you have a club that you-- you putt with, that it has to be of equal or shorter length than the shortest club in your bag. I don't agree with that. I don't know how Cabrera won a major championship with the-- with a putter longer than a sand wedge. He was not anchoring it to any part of his body. Now I'll tell you, in his prime, Ray Floyd use a Zebra putter that if you put it side by side next to a sand wedge, it might have been longer. I understand what he's saying. I don't like anchoring whether it'll be belly, sternum, chest or forearm. But, in this particular case, I appreciate premise and not the solution. -I agree as well. And-- but I do as you just said on him. It give him a little credit-- -Sure. -for stepping out and taking a stand because it would have been easy to-- to say-- I don't know. Whatever they do is just fine. But, when he comes out-- -It's not for me and that I don't care. -He-- but he comes out and not only says I think it's a problem but then goes in and has a solution. You and I have talked in the program. I would say the guy that-- that just irks me is the guy who complains but doesn't have a solution. Even if it's not the best solution, you know that guy. You know, that guy at work or your brother-in-law or someone that you grew up with or whatever. They always have a complaint and they never have the solution. Tiger, he's got a complaint but at least he's trying a solution. -Uh-huh -Trying to have some solutions each Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Eastern. Come on by. Special start time on Thursday and Friday this week, we'll go 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and follow the European Tour coverage. We'll see you then.
