-All right, welcome to the Morning Drive studios for GolfChannel.com. I'm Gary Williams with Erik Kuselias. It's great to have Jerry Foltz in. We had in him on Monday breaking down all the brackets. We'll put the brackets aside for a moment. The Northern Trust yesterday, a remarkable drama in Hollywood. When you think about the conclusion of that event, how was won not so much how was lost so much. What do you remember most? -I think Bill Haas and just sort of-- from a perspective of-- this is a guy and what he did out of the water in the FedEx Cup and I'm thinking in the playoffs just looking at two major champions and there's a major champion either side of them and very different kinds of major champions. Keegan Bradley who won in his first ever appearance in a major. And then, you have Phil who's just sort of Phil looking to repeat in the mystique and 40 career wins. And, he just stared them both down and once again found a way to battle through this thing and clutch it out. Bill Haas. -Well, he did clutch it out. He clutched it out but with a very improbable putt on the second playoff. Well, my lasting memories are going to be the putt and the sound when Phil Mickelson made it on the 72nd hole today. That was incredible after not being able to shake one in all day long. He makes that-- what was a 30-feet-- I think 29-feet or something. That was incredible. Keegan tops it on top of that. Then, on the second hole of the playoff when Haas makes a putt, it's like-- it was like that somebody just let all of here out of blue. Did that really just happened because there was such a build up and I know, of course, the fan favorite being filled. They all wanted him to win and it was-- it was incredible. It really was. The drama this year on the PGA Tour is-- is crazy. It's stupid good. -It is a remarkable West Coast swing. But to me, you think about where they played. You think about 18th at Riviera. It's so demanding. It's so long. Yet, you have Keegan Bradley hitting wedge in there. But, the difference between the 18th hole that they played, that-- that the par want it. And then, they go to 10th which is the most seductive par of 4, I think in the world. And, for it to conclude there with Bill Haas basically saying, "You know what, I'm just going to put it on the green from 40-feet-- -A pitch out. -A pitch out. -Yeah. -And, I have the advantage on one of the shortest holes they'll play all year long on the PGA Tour." That to me shows you that things built 100 years ago almost still can stand up today. -I was still looking at the three of those guys and I was also thinking, "You know what, it's now official. Seven straight events to come out of the gate won by the good old USA first time for more than a decade that's happened." -Yeah. -So, it seems like USA is off to a good start on trying to get eight straight this week at match play. -That's true. Seven is a key number for us. That's when we start Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. right here on Morning Drive.
