-From the Morning Drive studios for golfchannel.com, I'm Gary Williams, Erik Kuselias in match play. This will be a hard one for the Americans to keep a very nice streak alive to the start year with 7 straight American winners. Last time this happened 2001. If you were gonna pick a player and this is not easy on the American side red, white, and blue to get it done and run the streak to 8, who would you go with? -I think I'd take Tiger. Starting to sort of turn it around, had some top 3's, had a win. It wasn't an official event, only an 18-man field, but did have a win. And the consistency for me has really been the thing with Tiger. And if you have a bad hole, you are not done in match play. If you lose the hole-- you lose the hole, you go to the next one. It only-- It counts the same whether you lose the hole by 1 stroke or 8 strokes. It doesn't matter. So, sometimes you can get away with having a couple of bad shots and around and still be able to get a W and I-- So, I think this sort of plays to Tiger's strength both mentally and physically. I think he's the best bet to get it done. What about you? -I will take Webb Simpson. He's never been there before, but I-- I do believe, Erik, that you know, Webb is the kind of player that will thrive in circumstances like this. I know he loved the Presidents Cup-- -Uh-huh. -experience. And-- And again, he could lose in the 1st round. I don't think Tiger will, but I do believe that Webb Simpson is gonna make a very good run. I will add that there are a few other Americans, someone like Ben Crane. You can say, "Well, that's crazy." Look at the history of this event. If you get a hot putter and he can get as hot as anybody as Rory, as some other guys that he has absolutely just completely dusted off in a situation where there has been either borderline match play or a match play format, hot putters, I just think his bracket is too darn horrid and like Tiger, the Snead bracket, I think, provides opportunities for a couple of those Americans, Tiger and Webb, to get on through. -You mentioned Rory McIlroy, you know, and your Ben Crane-- When you beat Rory McIlroy like he beat Rory McIlory-- -Yes. -last year and-- and you basically just sort of taken him to the woodshed like he did. -Sort of. -I mean, that kind of billy clubbing you can't-- you-- you-- you don't-- This is Rory McIlroy. Isn't the best player of the world. He didn't win-- He-- It's-- It's not an accident you get that done, so I-- I-- Clearly, he's a guy that has a nice little-- After the first wave of guys you would think of a good guy to maybe get this thing done. -And-- And people who don't remember when he beat him 8 and 7, Rory walked off in the middle of the fairway. He just said, "You know what? I've had enough." This has got to end. -It was like an 8 mile when they dropped the mike there to concede. -Very much so. We don't drop the mike. 7 to 9 Monday through Friday right here on Morning Drive.
