-I'm Martin Hall. You're watching School of Golf Extra Credit, Better Balance. I want to stop you staggering to the clubhouse and leaking oil. Look, balance doesn't just mean that you can hold the finish at the end of the swing. A lot of people mistakenly say that. Let me show you something. I can wobble all over the place and somehow hold my finish. That's not a well-balanced golf swing you probably won't repeat. I've got 4 drills at every golf because you probably spend some time doing to improve your balance no matter what standard you're at. First drill, we'll call it left foot, right toe, left foot, right toe. Hit some shots just off the left foot right toe. It will power you down a bit and it will keep you balanced and when you balance your arms do about an appropriate amount of work not too much. Now we're gonna go right foot, left toe, right foot, left toe. Now I put the ball about in line with the right foot here but working both sides of the body, right foot, left toe, again keeping the balance. You can see those balls or I hope you can at going actually rather straight. Now next drill, left leg only. This one is a little more difficult, just a little more advanced, left leg only. You'll wobble around a little bit but again a great drill for keeping the balance and eventually right leg only. Just standing on the right foot. I'd recommend every golfer does each of those 4 drills to get a sense of keeping the balance. There is one more you can do if you really want to test yourself and that's actually instead of wearing golf shoes, get some street shoes and leather sole shoes on Lee Trevino. You see this in cowboy boots and see if you can actually hit shots wearing street shoes. Trainers would do because that'll stop you winding and talking and losing your balance and I would stress to you a respective of the standard. Some of your work should always be done on balance. Really help you play better. Thanks for joining us on GolfChannel.com for the best in golf instruction. I'm Martin Hall and you've been watching School of Golf Extra Credit.
