I'm Martin Hall, Director of Instruction at Ibis Golf and Country Club West Palm Beach. Your grip is too weak. Now, what does that mean? Well, it means you're going to hit a lot of slices, and the thing we all react to the very most in this game with golf is the clubface. You hang to the only thing that cuts the clubface so how you get your hands on the club, absolutely vital. I don't want you having a weak grip. Here is the best tip I know so that you get your grip where it should be. Your grip is too weak. How are we going to fix it? I've taken two shafts here. I just [unk] them together. Now typically, a weak grip is where the hands are turned too much that way. Back of the left hand probably down to the ground a bit too much, palm of the right hand down at the ground. Take a grip, your normal grip with the shaft. But because it's a shaft it's very easy to turn the hands without really twisting anything in the shoulders. And I want you to take both hands and feel that you turn them both a little clockwise. So, I'm turning the shaft, I'm going from here to here. Now, my right hand is going to feel much more under the club and so should yours. Here's a little two for one here. Put the back of your right hand against your right leg. And bring the right hand to the club that way, you probably should be able to see two knuckles of your left hand. That's going to get rid of the weak grip. That's going to get rid of the slices. So, let's see if I can do that if we're going to hit one. Here we go, left hand, I can see two knuckles. Back of the right hands to back of-- to the right leg. Bring the right hand to the club that way. That's a stronger grip. Very unlikely that I'm going to slice the ball from here. And I didn't, I hit a nice little roll there. There's no excuse for you not having a wonderful grip. You may not be able to play like a superstar but you should be able to grip the club like a superstar.
