Bad: Credits himself with Memorial win
A harmless slip, but Tiger Woods mistakenly said he won Jack's tournament in 2013. He didn't. Unless by 'win' he means 'finished T-65.'
Ugly: Failed to win a major
Tiger Woods isn't getting any younger, and he certainly didn't get any closer to Jack's record this year.
Good: Back to No. 1
Tiger Woods had fallen as low as 58 in the official world ranking. With his victory at Bay Hill, he regained the No. 1 ranking.
Bad: Feud with Garcia
Sergio Garcia blamed Tiger Woods for pulling a club - causing the crowd to loudly cheer - in the middle of his backswing. The back-and-forth jabs got pettier as the days went on.
Ugly: Improper drop in Abu Dhabi to MC
In his first start of the year, Tiger Woods took what he thought was proper relief from a sandy area. He was docked a two-stroke penalty and missed the cut by one.
Good: Nearly shot 59
In the second round of the WGC-Bridgestone, Tiger Woods was on fire at Firestone and on 59 watch. He eventually settled on tying his career-best with a 61.
Bad: Worst nine holes of career
On Saturday at the Memorial (an event Tiger Woods has won five times), Woods posted a third-round 79 that inlcuded a first-nine stretch of 44 - the worst nine-hole total of his professional career.
Ugly: Worst ever 72-hole total at a major
Tiger Woods' 13-over 293 at Merion was his worst 72-hole total at a U.S. Open and any major as a professional.
Good: Secures winning point
Tiger Woods defeated Richard Sterne, 1 up, in Sunday singles to give the U.S. squad the 18 points needed to retain the Presidents Cup.
Bad: Loses to McIlroy in 18-hole duel
Tiger Woods lost to Rory McIlroy (otherwise winless in 2013) in the 18-hole exhibition at Mission Hills in China, then opted not to play the WGC-HSBC in nearby Shanghai.
Ugly: On-course integrity brought into question
Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee wrote for Golf.com that Tiger Woods was 'a little cavalier with the rules' in 2013, which resulted in a media frenzy lasting weeks.
Good: Won WGC-Bridgestone by seven shots
Looking like the Tiger Woods of old, he lapped the field at the WGC-Bridgestone and won in dominating fashion.
Bad: Blamed greens after every lackluster round
Tiger Woods is the king of catch phrases and the one he latched onto this year? "I couldn't get the speed of the greens."
Ugly: Third on list of most disliked athletes
In a survey conducted by Nielsen/E-Poll and published by Forbes magazine, Woods came in third on the list of America's "most disliked athletes."
Good: Stability in his private life
After his private life fell apart in 2009, Tiger Woods and girlfriend Lindsey Vonn made their relationship public in March and Vonn has been seen toting Woods' kids around at tournaments.
Bad: Woods' back injury at The Barclays
After battling back pain all week at The Barclays, Tiger Woods dropped to all fours Sunday in the middle of the 14th fairway. He went on to finish runner-up.
Ugly: Woods 'embarrasses' girlfriend in public
Tiger Woods reportedly embarrassed girlfriend Lindsey Vonn after getting tipsy at Met Gala after-parties. Goofy pictures and reports of Woods falling down circulated the day after.
Good: Woods renews with Nike
No surprise here, but Tiger Woods signed a new Nike contract this year. Financial terms and duration of the new deal were not disclosed.
Bad: Woods' elbow flairs up
Tiger Woods withdrew from his own tournament - the AT&T National - citing a strained elbow, opting to rest for three weeks in advance of the Open Championship.
While Tiger Woods was working hard to repair his personal image this year, his professional image took a hit when he took an improper drop at the Masters.
Good: Highest-paid athlete
Tiger Woods returned to No. 1 on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest-paid athletes, a position he held from 2001 to 2012. Last year, Woods was supplanted by boxer Floyd Mayweather.
Bad: Questionable drop at The Players
Tiger Woods hooked a fairway wood into the hazard lining the left side of the 14th fairway Sunday at TPC Sawgrass. He took what some believed to be a very favorable drop en route to his eventual victory.
Ugly: Tiger and the oscillating incident
At the third event in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, video of Tiger Woods showed he moved his ball while removing loose impediments. When approached about it later, he maintained it merely oscillated. He was assessed a two-shot penalty.
