The golf world uses Twitter to share news and offer a glimpse into players’ lives and thoughts. In a new daily, GolfTalkCentral feature, we will offer up the best tweets from the past 24 hours.

You can nominate your favorites from the day as well by re-tweeting the best 140-character dispatches with the hashtag #GCTOTD.

The premiere edition of Tweets of the Day focuses on the shift at the top of the Official World Golf Ranking, with Luke Donald taking back No. 1 from Rory McIlroy.

@McIlroyRory: Well I enjoyed it while it lasted! Congrats @LukeDonald! Impressive performance!

@LukeDonald: Happy mothers day mum #winning

@LukeDonald: Thanks @McIlroyRory! You know anyone at the White House who could get me an invite :)

Ian Poulter was impressed by Donald’s second win to secure the No. 1 spot.
