Cunningham cruises at AJGA Junior

George Cunningham of Litchfield Park, Ariz., recorded the AJGA's fifth-lowest 54-hole score and earned his first AJGA victory with a 17-under-par 199 total. Cunningham's final-round 64 gave him a five-shot win and broke Centennial Golf Club's competitive course record.

In 2009, Payne Denman posted a 14-under-par 199 at the Burgett H. Mooney, Jr. Rome Classic (Coosa Country Club, Rome, Ga.), and Justin Thomas posted a 12-under-par 198 total at the Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior (Bellefonte Country Club, Ashland, Ky.). Jeremy Frye of Palestine, Texas, holds the AJGA's all-time 54-hole scoring record (19-under-par 194 – 2002 Abilene Reporter-News Junior).

In the Girls Division, Jennifer Ha of Calgary, Alberta, claimed a four-stroke victory in her AJGA debut. A double-bogey on No. 10 narrowed Ha's lead to two strokes, but she rebounded and played the last eight holes in 2-under-par and finished at 7-under-par 209. Jennifer Yang of Coquitlam, B.C., shot the low round of the day, a 4-under-par 68, to finish second at 3-under-par 213.
