Two putts really hurt Woods

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. – Tiger Woods missed only two putts inside 7 feet in the second round on Friday, but those two putts really stung.

At his third hole, the par-4 12th, he missed from just over 4 feet, while he also missed from half that distance at his penultimate hole.

Deduct two strokes from his score and he'd been within striking distance of the lead, at 1 over rather than 3 over.

He had 28 putts total, including five one-putts in a row on his back nine.

He also has driven the ball well, finding 17 of 28 fairways, although it must be said the Aronimink fairways generally have quite generous landing areas.
