All four major champions in BMW PGA Championship field

VIRGINIA WATER, England – The BMW PGA Championship will have all four current major champions in the field for the first time when the tournament tees off Thursday, while Lee Westwood’s battle to retain his No. 1 ranking from two other European players further illustrates where the power in golf currently resides.

PGA Championship holder Martin Kaymer, U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell, Masters winner Charl Schwartzel and British Open champ Louis Oosthuizen lead a field that contains seven of the world’s top 10 players and all of the victorious European Ryder Cup team except for the injured Padraig Harrington.

Kaymer, who along with Luke Donald is bidding to take Westwood’s top spot, said, “It’s probably the best field we have ever had here.”
