The top-ranked Swede was at 11-under 133 after two rounds. Karrie Webb (68) was at 138. Sophie Sandolo (71), Trish Johnson (67) and Tania Elosegui Mayor (70) were at 139.
'I haven't thought about the next two days,' Sorenstam said. 'I'm happy to be 11 under and I played well. I think I've been putting well overall. So when the day comes tomorrow the big thing is to just be rested and continue to play the way I have been.'
Johnson had the day's best round with a 67 despite three-putting for par at the 18th. Sorenstam also missed three birdie chances inside 10 feet.
Gwladys Noceras' hopes of winning the Ladies European Tour money title slipped after her 73 left her 11 shots behind Sorenstam.
